gaskets on downpipe?

im installing a badmab downpipe. Question is it looks like the stock gasket from the turbo to the downpipe is held in by a bolt. Do i take the bolt out and remove the gasket or do i just install the badmab gasket over top of it?

If you are talking about the round crush gasket thats embedded in the O2 housing(turbo to DP) it just pops out. Ther is no bolt holding any gasket.
this is what it looks like new when you replace it:

Granted the is the Turbo side of the O2 housing but its the same on the other end where the DP attaches to. As you can see there is a recess in the metal all the way around, pull the old gasket out by jamming a thin flathead and prying it up and out and the just put the new one in place and reattch the DP. If you are talking about the other gasket at the end of the DP to exhaust, well thats just a normal flat triangle shaped one that goes in between the DP and exhaust.

how do you get the screwdriver behind the gasket to take it off?

Like I said, I used a small very thin flathead. Jammed it in between the iron wall and the gasket and started to pry it out. Im unfamiliar with the badmab DP, so, it comes with one of these gaskets or did you buy one from GMPD or dealer or something? I dont know of any vendor that includes this gasket.

Hold on...I just checked their site. It looks like they include a gasket for the DP to O2 housing. Hmmm, man I dont know. You may need to talk to someone that has installed a badmab before on their LNF. The stocker does not have that type of gasket. Its a round crush one like the one in my pic. I dont know if ppl leave it in since its flattened out and install the badmab gasket over it or if they remove it and use the badmab gasket. Sorry.

Most people just reuse the stock one, since it doesn't come off easily.

I've reused mine 3 times now, now leaks.

You should be fine to reuse it. Just torque down evenly.

I agree with you all. I didnt replace mine until I did my turbo build. Before that I had the DP off like 3 times. but look at the gasket that badmab includes:
BAD-MAB.com
Would you leave the stock round crush gasket in place AND use this or remove the round one so there isnt a raised surface that could cause a leak?

would it not be better to just reuse the stock one and the badmab one?

Yeah I put the Bad Mab one right over that one since they are kinda two different style gaskets. No problems with it for me.

Don't use both. Pick one, but the stock one is a better design, and less likely to leak.
