But the TC is making the same power @ 4500rpm as the SC is. So basically the SC is @ max power, while the TC is just getting stronger and stronger higher up the RPM's
A supercharged engine creates more drivetrain loss. It also creates parasitic drag on the engine as it's belt driven and the unit is 50% heavier than a small turbo.. A turbo will always be a better choice, for power, efficiency, economy, you name it. There's a reason sooooo! many 2003-2004 cobra owners are swapping out their superchargers for a turbo or two. I had a SS\SC, did a power adder swap to a turbo and the car woke up big time. And when the SS\SC peaks out in its power band the SS\T just carries on up the rpm band with more power and way!!! more torque.

You should use the search button before posting that kind of stuff.
It's been beaten to death a million times, and I don't think anyone wants to see this thread go that was.
but truth be told, the cobalt ss shouldve been the lnf in the first place, just my 2 cents though.

New member and owner of a SS/TC sedan, some of the links dont work for my computer, was wondering if any1 can help out with specs on the lnf and even more info on the turbo? It sounds stupid to ask but is it even necessary to idel the engine before shut down to prevent turbo damge? I work on semi's for a living and on the heavy duty side we dont need to worry about that crap?
no u dont have to let it idel before shutdown. since u usually drive nice the last minute or so when u come to where ur going, and also it is water and oil cooled so there isn't any need unless u drive the **** out of it or are at the track then let it idel for a little before shut down to be safe.
turbo is ko4 twinscroll. thats all i know

Jeeze people. Who cares who has what. The critics, magazines and people with way more knowledge than most of us have praised the LNF powered Cobalt as being far ahead of the old Supercharged. Lets stop arguing about it. Drive train loss, underrated that....Why can't people just accept progression. The SS was near the bottom of it's class as a Supercharged vehicle, now it virtually leads it's class. END OF STORY!!! lol
