I wasn't sure if I need a custom tune for a charge pipe and intercooler so I thought I'd ask. I'm reconsidering my start point with my modding project.

I may start with GMS1 then intercooler & CP.

Is this going to cause issues like an intake does?

If you're going to put aftermarket charge piping and IC on your car, I wouldn't bother with GMS1. You'll be setting yourself up for warranty issues anyway, with those aftermarket parts, so you might as well go with Trifecta and save some money (about 400 dollar difference).

Yeah that would be good on GMS1, as long as you dont get an intake.

the only intakes worth talking about for the Cobalt SS/TC is the AEM intake and the K&N. everyone else is not worth hassling with unless you plan on getting a tuned.

Nice I didn't know AEM was good too, that's good to know.

that's because AEM revised their intake, before that they were just as bad as the other intakes, until K&N finally came out with their version. So either K&N or AEM. I sticked with AEM because I don't have to do much maintenance unlike K&N where you later have to charged up the kit and clean the MAF sensor from all the oil off. Terminator2 (zen tuner) on the forums has already proved that the AEM doesn't need tuning (good as stock), but he already sold his AEM and went back to his Hahn because he is not going to keep something if it doesn't require much tuning.

Nice, well my plans have changed to

GMS1
MPx Intercooler
Charge Pipes from ZZP and Injen
AEM Intake
ZZP Downpipe
Cosmetic Mods
Lowering Springs

Then when warranty expires

Trifecta Tune (or if something better is out there)

It seems like you don't need to do trifecta right away depending on the route you take. If I'm correct this route I'm choosing shouldn't need a custom tune.
