going from LSJ to LNF, what to look for?

Long story short my LSJ lost brakes and i ran a stop sign and hit someone, needless to say the car is a complete loss. i have found a 08 Silver TC for 14k with 11k on the clock.

What do I need to look for with these cars in terms of problem area's, I know how the clutch and trans should feel but other than that totally new to LNF's. I will be keeping my interceptor and other stuff from the car, as it's got a bunch of mods......

A T/C with 11k miles for 14k dollars. Great deal no matter what, as long as the car runs great

btw ur interceptor wont work as it should, you have a PT series, and you will need a CN might as well sell it and buy a new one for the new TC, regardless congrats

I know the Interceptor won't work, but mine is brand new so my friend will get it. My AEM UEGO is still in the box so that will go in the TC, I have to go look at the car and find out what State farm is going to do with my car. If they give KBB i'll go pick the TC up asap.

Yes that is correct on both. The stock boost is around 14-15psi. On the T/C, you can have a dramatically gain in power for about $ 1000: downpipe (catted or catless, depends on what state you live. It would be nice to also match it with a nice catback exhaust. In that case, you have to add the cost of the catback, even if it is the least important part as far as hp gain), a good CAI (I suggest Injen, K&N or AEM) and a tune done by somebody that knows what he's doing, i.e. BackYard Turbo (it will bring your boost up to something like 23-24 psi, and you still will be safe as far as internals). With those things, you are looking on putting down around 300-320 hp at the dyno. Your car will improve like you won't believe. After doing those mods, I was putting 315whp down.

Very nice, my S/Cj was making in the range of 270 but had 3k worth of work. I want about 320-350whp, and i just read the ZZP suggested upgrade path, as that is only about an hour from me. I had almost all my work done there.

What about little know problems with these cars? Anything I should look for there, I know the one I'm looking at is a lowrise G85 car, no RPD. Clean as a whistle inside and out, and even in the engine bay!

For sure the best thing you can do is to buy that car, expecially if you found it for 14k with 11k miles. And with $ 1000 you will think you are driving a different car.
There are some minor issues with the T/C, there are some sticky threads that tell you all about pros and cons. But if you can afford to buy that T/C, DEFINITELY get it.

HP Tuners, not zzp tune.

zzp down pipe and k&N intake should be first purchase.

Wouldn't worry about clutch till you get up in the HP.

Check the rotors for scorched marks/grooves on both sides. Fronts should have been replaced for recall. Power steering motor recall. Minor oil leak at front top of motor (forget exactly where). Check for cracked or loose upper chargepiping. Check plastic ends on intercooler for cracks. Im sure theres more. Nothing major though.

lolololol^ the car i found is about 160 miles away, so once i figure out the insurance and all i'll check it out. most likely parting the S/C stuff out when i buy the car back. The only thing i want that this one don't have is the highrise.

Don't get it unless you see a proper leakdown and compression done. IN PERSON.

There were alot of wind / hail damaged cars that were sold in your part of the country ..... they were all 2008's and had late may / early june build dates . Take a look at the build date on the sticker on the inside of the drivers door .

your clutch wont bolt up to the TC either, it will need modding, and yes do a compression and leak down test also, could be someones problem and thats why there selling it cheap even though it looks good

Finding a clean low mile LNF for under 15k is not easy by any means..... I have found a few i like, but I refuse to buy red again, maybe the sport red tintcoat but idk. I really want silver, or imperial blue, maybe black. but how can you tell if it's a G85 car, all the LNF's have buckets and stuff?
