that's what you get for not double- clutching like you should!

but nah kristian it could possibly be synchros but give us some more info, does it do it going up or down in any other gear? how bad is it putting in into first from like a stop? is it a grind noise or do you physically feel it make a grind and have resistance going in? just trying to help out bro

It could be as simple as a cable adjustment or as difficult as a pressure plate. You might not be disengaging all the way, though, so maybe you can try to bleed the clutch hydraulic system.

yes syncro will be under warranty. try whats stated above and bleed the system and in my opinion if you have any friends near by with a cobalt have them drive it and see if it does it to them. doubtful, but it could maybe be driver error. usually grinding ends up being syncros though.

problem with the dealer is most of them will tell you, your clutch is worn out its time for a new one. Clutch is not under warranty. Wearable part. So be ready for that.

if i was home i'd test drive it for ya bro but i wont be back till thanksgiving

my guess would possibly be synchros thou. my car is a little resistant sometimes going into 2nd depending where the RPM's are at but it never does it in any other gear, just trying to go into 1st from a stop at times. just remember with this cold weather you need to really take it easy on everything until the fluids warm up too
