Hahn Parts Install = CEL?
Hey Guys,
So I installed my Hahn intake, Charge Pipes, and Intercooler today... took me a little white but all is well now! Except the CEL. As soon as I started the car up and let it run for a bit... I got a check engine light. Should I be worried about this? Will it go away on its own?
Also at one point (only happened once) I drove the car for a bit, all was well. Got back home, I was letting it cool off and then all of a sudden the idle began to flutter. It would go from 1000rpm to 500rpm and then back up and down, etc. The boost gauge was going crazy too, from like 20 vac to 5 lbs every time the idle jumped. So I turned off the car, waited a min, started back up and its fine and has been ever since then.
Any ideas/help for me?
Thanks

my only guess would be that the computer is playing its stubborn game of not wanting to learn all the new mods, see, i got all the hahn parts, and pushin more boost, and that causes my CEL to come on all the time for no reason at all, pushes it into limp mode until i turn the car off, then i gotta disconnect the battery cable for a minute, plug it back in then its fine.... the stock sensors pretty much can learn to kiss my A** cuz lol i aint even tuned yet and i'm always havin to deal with the stubborn computer...

Your car is going into limp home mode for a reason. Keep driving it around like that for a while and see what happens. You need to get a proper tune. Maybe nothing will happen but if it is anything but a underboost or overboost code it is going to do some damage over time.

First try just disconnecting the negative battery terminal. If the code comes back it is the intake most likely causing it. It usually means that there is a leak near the the MAF of the MAF could have been damaged possibly. You could also have a big CP leak somewhere check all your couplers and clamps.

ok, so for my CEL that every once in a while comes up, it is not an engine threatening deal, its just an oh **** what do i do with all this air kinda deal.... how it happens, i boost slow, like on the highway at 70 mph in 5th gear if i just lay into it, and boost builds, takes longer to boost, and it drives the sensor nuts and then shuts itself down, no problem, shut the car off, and BAM,,, problem solved. boosts fine again, no lights. now do you get it? i think i would be able to tell if i was F****** up my engine. i'm not a mechanic, or an all around vehicle genius, but i do know what goes on inside there, and what not to do, and what to do if something goes wrong. so please stop placing me as a noob lol.
