help - boost issue

my car has 200,000k on it. recently i floored it from 2nd gear and at 5,000rpm the power was gone..... car still ran fine but then i only boosted to 20kpa.........now i can boost to 50kpa (which is close to half stock) but it gets jumpy up there and of fluttery....but the sound is fine, and i can hear the turbo loud and clear. ran a boost test and there was no sound so no air was escaping. not sure what else it could be.. if you know what the problem could be could you post it and maybe a solution as well??

Scan for codes there will be some present. Lot of codes don't throw a warning light and can also cause limp mode(5psi ish)

Vehicle history. Modifications. Tune?

You say fluttery but the sound is fine aswell? Contradicting. Video's/audio would help everyone diagnosing a ton aswell.

What type of boost test did you run?

At 200k it could be many variables. Code scan helps get a start.

Yeah, we need codes or something. Any "supercharger" sound from the turbo? Stock intercooler? Which MAP sensors? We need info like that. With that many miles, you're bound to have coked valves.

Your car is up there with the few high mileage TC's. Are you original owner? I imagine there are some in the 250,000km-300,00km range, not sure what highest would be.

20Blackbird did you actually plug in and scan your vehicle? Or you just assuming no dashboard lights=no codes? Your car is a Frankenstein of mod brands...injen, Hahn, zzp, and mpx, rofl.

Yeah I've scanned it, and it's a long story why I have so many different brands lol it ran fine for about a year and a half. This just recently started, wouldn't think some of my mods would have anything to do with it though.

No codes at all that is WEIRD with those symptoms.

Has the car ever had GMS1 installed? I had similar symptoms appear when it got wet out, found to be the GMS1 wiring, they re-did the wiring and has never come back in over 100,000km. I had no trifecta for scanning codes at that time, but no dashboard light came on.

I had some codes, but it was for rear o2 due to the catless dp, but I'm not sure if it has had gms1 ran stock boost when I got it.

And yeah I thought it was pretty weird myself, I mean it almost sounds like a miss when I shift into 3rd and it just loses all power then slowly picks back up.

Sorry-

Im not the original owner and im not sure what the car had done before.

As for mods, the car has some ebay CAI from previous owner. Thats it.

I floored from second gear, power stopped at 5,000rpm.

Cleared the code, took off the hotside tube going into the turbo to check for boost leak, put it back on, cleared the code, now i boost like i said 40kpa and its sputtery and **** up there. No weird sounds.

Heard it might be a blown/clogged cat???

Made the $20 one from home depot with plumbing tubes and an air compressor

What was the code for?
From your gievn symptons check your bpv and wastegate since your boosting around 50kpa which is near the wastegate spring pressure make sure everything is connected to the boost control solenoid.

This could be the issue. Bad intake setups cause misfires and other issues like horrible fuel trims. Also could need new plugs. Use of other than OEM AC Delco plugs gapped at 0.035" for a stock LNF can cause misfires like that.
