Exclamation HELP installing HP tuners problem

im trying to install the software and i cant open the VCM editor nor the scanner... this is the error that comes up:

"this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

ive try to restart the computer, ive "repair" the wizard... i just dont know what to do! HELP!

What version are you installing and what OS? If it's the cd that came with it, it's too old. You'll have a PM in a minute.

Reinstall the drivers and make sure both drivers load properly.

i got it to work on my desktop computer but not on my laptop for some reason :s

The type of os u have windows seven is a bitch. U got yo download the fireware I think go to the website and ask

Windows XP is pretty HP tuner friendly Vista and 7 can be a little more difficult sometimes. Unistall then reinstall the drivers. Then check to make sure both drivers are installed. Ifonly one driver is installed it will not work.

^^^ Make sure you remove the drivers first like Term says or it will just keep trying to use the old ones.

i feel your pain. i have windows 7 and it was not much fun.
make sure your drivers are digitally signed. that was a big issue
with mine.

Let me speak your language sir. Its harder to install on some OS meaning windows 7, xp, vista. it sometimes won't work... driver issues...

I am almost certain that his windows installer did not install the second driver. Mine automatically prompted me to install the 2nd driver.

Cardo should be able to look in Control Panel> System> Device Manager with the interface connected and see if any devices show a driver error. They would show up with a Yellow Splat if I remember right.
