HELP!! oil in CP and IC!!!
HELP!! oil in CP and IC!!!
didn't want to hijack another thread, so here goes. I have a s20g and have oil in my charge pipes and IC. NO smoke at start up, acceleration, or idle. no oil is visible on top or behind motor. no oil on or coming from turbo fittings or lines. have not done a compression or leak down, but car runs healthy and strong. going to get powells oil separator next week.
how important is a check valve?? I do not have one. yes i'm running a mpx catch can and do not have the factory line that runs from the valve cover to the intake.

do a compression test minimum, leak down test is even better. Gotta know engine health before you spend money on the Powell PCV upgrade. Happy to help if I can email works. If you can borrow a borescope have a look at your inlet valves going through the booster vacuum port.
I have the same exact issue. I have oil pre-turbo in the intake and in the CP and IC... I used a full quart of oil while on vacation, 1500 miles total. The car has GMS1 and HP 25psi tune, K&N cai, injen cp, etc.... I am ordering the MPX catch can and pcv valve.... I hope this stops the excessive use of oil through the intake....
You might be better off getting Powell's PCV upgrade than MPX oil catch can. Cause MPX oil catch can is not gonna do anything and Powell's has proven his works.

well keep ur money from the catch can and save it for the powell separator, cause I promise u, ud be wasting ur money on a catch can, I know I had one for 2 years, a good one, with wire sponge in it to catch the oil, guess how much it caught? nothing. all the oil was still going into my pipes. u will read the same story from everyone else on here

the cai has a hose going from it to the port closer to the driver side(as of today,a checkvalve was placed in that hose) the port on the valve cover on the pass. side goes to the can and the port off the turbo( near the turbo inlet) goes to the other port on the catch can.
Cancelling my order for the MPX then....
What I don't understand, is the fact the car just started doing this in the last 2000 miles.... it never did it before, I mean not this excessive, and it has been modded for the last 20K.... so what changed for it to start doing this is my question.... Is something clogged up? PCV?

Update: If you have excessive oil in the intake pipes and intercooler (more than residue and drops) then more than likely, your PVC Valve is clogged up. It is an $11 part on the other side of the intake, and it will cause the air check valve (connected to your CAI, pre-turbo) to let massive amounts of oil go through it when under interstate speeds and or WOT/high-boost.... Mine is fixed now and now no more oil at all.....
