My cracked flywheel wobbled but it also made a buttload of noise along with it!

One time on another car I had a motor mount crack. It didn't break completely, it just cracked. It also created some vibration. Kinda like if your engine isn't running right and it moves around a lot.

But truthfully, there's SO many things that can cause it. You really are better off to just take it in.

Did you ever find the problem? Sounds like an axle

Its in all gears.. Real na under load. My driver side axle had a good amount f play when moving it up and down a little bit side to side. Im leaning towards that now. Ordered a axle and PRAYING to god that it fixes it. I will keep you gues posted!

If I were to do a wot pull, which I've only done a few times trying to diagnose.. The whole front end wonbles TERRIBLY side to side.. Is so bad I would think something would har broke by now. Again it's in all gears, worse when under load. Should jar an axle this week so I'll let you guys know!

I have the same problem as you. I'm in the same battle to get it fixed. I replaced my axle tonight and it did nothing. It wobbles really bad and shake violently the faster I go. So if were in the same boat hold off on the axle and save the money.

I'm thinking its something in the steering now. Our steering column and components are cheap. My tierods are good so I'm going to check the steering shaft. Do you hear a clunk when turn the wheel side to side real bad? I'm thinking something loose in the steering will have slack in the car to make it shake side to side

Hmm.. I'm not sure if it's anything with the steering cause I don't feel it it the steering wheel. It goes with the Rpms/ load/speed of the car so that kinda makes me want to rule out anything in the steering column. If the carnies parked and off and I shake the steering wheel side to Side I can hear a little notice, I guess I would call it a rattle kinda. But I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Now if I drive on the highway for awhile the wobble will become an audible thump. Repeatedly and then go away. Sometimes I can hear the axle pop or crunk if I jerk the throttle.

I know it sounds far fetched but mine rattles too. I don't feel it in the wheel as bad as I do in the rest of the car. But that's why I'm looking into the known problem and it could be related. I had my heart set it was the axle but the new did not affect it all. I'm thinking the reason we don't feel it at low speeds is because the steering and load isn't as bad. When I give it gas at light throttle in 2nd and 3rd I feel it the worst under a load. But if I go faster its still there.

I feel like the faster I go the more wobble I get. The steering is tied to the knuckle through drivetrain and the more stress added, like light throttle would make the steering more sensitive to the wobbling. I have only 10k on a new clutch and dif, and now new axles. I have the clunk when I go over bumps so tom I'm going to inspect the strut mount.

I've eliminated everything but the rack, steering shaft, steering column and tower mount. I had my tires balanced today too. This is the weirdest thing. Pop your hood and put the front in the air and have someone wiggle the wheel fast back and forth. That's when I noticed how loud that rattle was under the hood.

Did your car follow ruts in the road on its own before the wobble? Like it was hard to keep straight?

I have a zzp trans also.. Let's say ur cruising on the highway 70mph barley on the throttle do you feel it then? In my car I don't..I was thinking a mount is loose also but they're all tight.. I'll get some pop here an there at low speeds like pulling in a parking lot.. Idk it's driving me crazy.. And the car never really felt swervey on the highway or anything.

In 5thgear cruising its not bad. But for some reason when I load it gets bad. My wobbling isn't consistent either, when its warmer out it doesn't feel like its doing it as bad

I guess I have the same Symptoms.. It's under load I I were to be dicing on the highway with my foot barely on the gas the car would drive smooth.. Soon as I get to a slight hill or something that I would have to give throttle, it will wobble like a ************ ! Soon as I let off the throttle it will stop

Wow this is crazy. I get wobble on my steering wheel....but the weird thing is its only when crusing. But when I go WOT....or speed up...it goes away.

I have yet to balance my tires since Ive bought the car....but Im hoping a balance will fix that....but what is wierd is I thought it would get worse when I speed up.

Mine feels more driver side related, my trans and diff are gm. Wot pulls aren't as bad, I did that hoping to reallign something or hope it broke. It's just now feels the smart, not getting any worse but up a hill its real violent. It doesn't feel safe to drive

The same*

You see if I were to do a wot pull, it feels like my motor and trans are gonna drop out from underneath. It's terrible. Especialy in 3rd 4th and 5th. That's why I kinda don't think it's an axle but some of the signs are def symptoms of a bad inner cv

If I do a wot in 3rd, the whole front end of the car shakes side to side, like it moved your body side to side. It's terrible.

I kno this is real dumb.. But could u do a roll on 3rd pull ? Around 50 just to see what it does? Mine I don't really feel wot in 1st or 2nd but it's terrible in 3rd. Did u do the trans install yourself?

Sounds like an inner CV problem to me, seen a couple do just what you are describing. Hopefully the axle fixes it for you.

I really hope so too! This thing is driving me insane.. And that's the only abnormal looking thing user there is the inner cv.

You've herd of the whole front end shaking on a wot pull from a bad inner cv?

No the dealership did it. The kid who had it before me melted gears together and burnt the driveline up. So he had the dealership put a whole new drivetrain in minus axle and bearings.

I can go try but I know it will shake under a 3rd pull at 50. I'm taking it to a shop tom to.see if they see anything wrong with the steering components. I'm leaning towards the rack so ill have them check it. Everyone says the SS rack is stout tho so Idk.

I hope it fixes yours too but it didn't do a thing for me. Our symptoms sound similar but with small variances but that could be due to whichever part this is having more wear. I just don't want to see you blow money on something you don't need. Everything ive done has been an upgrade so I'm not really out but I'm running out of stuff to upgrade

Yeah, local guy with a redline had it happen like that, after I replaced the axles it was smooth as butter
