If its a legit HHR SS with the factory turbo then it came with the F35 5speed manual transmission with a 4.05 final drive

Was looking at autopartsfair.com they have one listed. Was just wondering if it was the 4t45e or what transmission is it?

So I was wondering. I have read other older post bout HHR SS Turbo/Auto. I wish I knew if it was the 4t45e because then I should be able to drop a hhr ss 2.0 turbo and make it work?

Not sure what you are asking. What car do you have?

Does it really matter what car I have if a hhr came turbo'd with a auto and it 4t45e I don't see why I couldn't work. I have the option to get this motor out of a wrecked hhr for cheap. If its possible I might be willing to be the first to try.

Possible? yes. Easy to drop in...probably not. I would imagine there may be clearance issues. Or things may not line up correctly. For example the engine and tranny mounts. But i have no clue man. I didnt even know the HHR SS came with an auto till an hour ago so what do i know? lol

I most definitely would not be easy. It would be easier to simply buy a Cobalt SS or an HHR SS.

4.08 final drive with g85 option not sure about non g85. On another site a guy swapped his 2.2 out of his ion and replaced it with a lnf. It can be done but there is alot more to it than just swapping motors. Ecm/bcm, wiring harness, motor mounts, gauges.

I might be the first to try lol. I got to do some more research and check clearance. I did read about hhr ss auto having a new style 4t45e. Wonder if hhr ecm/tcm will work with my old transmission? Honestly I can get the engine for 600 dollars engine/harness/computer turbo. So I can't beat that my cars not payed off so I can't get a ss. 2.0 motor just seem more reliable. Arnt they thicker? Def stronger. And if I drop it in there what 260hp? If I go any further I won't pass emissions in my 2.2 anyways. Would be nice to get 260 with 2.0 stock and pass.

4T45-E with a 3.29 final gear ratio stock, 2008-2010 HHR SS

I've been using Castrol Automatic Transmission Fluid, (ATF) Dexron-VI Premium Synthetic , since new.
Also lowered trans shift times with HPTuners.
These mods are making the automatic survive..

It's really strong, as I have been in the 12.5s @ 111+ mph my last 3 times at the track.
1.8s 60 foot time every run now.

E47.5 tune
K&N intake
Poly engine mount
Slicks, with brake-boosting 3,000rpm with 10psi of boost...

Link to my E47.5 tune , for you to try, is in this thread.

I have one . Boost ramp is stupid when stock. Vince changed that for me though, It use to stay at 10 psi till you hit 5k then ramp to 15 thats what causes the lowere HP numbers...now its straight to 22. I love it though. and yes its the 4T45E.

Someone already did the swap on here.

That's a ss right? Want to be the first to do it on LS. Sounds like a lot of hours though.

From what Ive been told its the exact same auto as the cobalts. No differences. No reason to upgrade to it as its not an upgrade. That what I was told by some fairly reputable people. But I havent done the research myself.

Well I can get the mtor cheap it only has 42,000 miles on it. My stock motor is ragged out with higher miles.don't feel like spending grands building up this motor. I would be happy with a ss motor that gets 260hp. Only looking to get about 300hp anyways. It would be cheaper to scoop this motor up then to build my 2.2. So if I get this motor computers and harness would it be plug and play??

Full wire harness needed for LNF swap.
