how much boost froma 2871R can a LNF handle?
how much boost froma 2871R can a LNF handle?
trying to figure out how mucg that stock engine can handle on a GT2871R turbo so that when i get the new HPT update installed on my car i can delete the limp mode and boost the hell outta it. im thinking 28psi should do with a racefuel/pump mix. what u guys think?
It's a fairly small turbo. I don't know if a specific PSI can be named as a limit. But, I know of an LNF solstice that put 27psi through a 35r to a stock motor.
How long that will last is up to your tune and luck.

I have not seen the compressor map of the 2871 but I would say 26 psi on pump gas should be doable on the stock block as long as your tune is good and you dont drive it like you stole it all the time you shoud be ok.
If you don't mind me asking, how does it spool compared to stock? Do you have the dyno graph for the numbers in your sig?
I've long considered this turbo for my gxp, but no one makes a bolt on option yet.

dude you have some *****...i would never push my daily driver that far just to test it out, if my car blew up id be in fucken shambles my hats off to you tho once your done testing that kit ill get it and push it just below your limits to ensure i dont blow my stock motor.

Are you requesting enough airload down low? I would bump the DAL's in the low/mid range (below 4krpm) until you hit underboost and see how much earlier you can get it making boost.
400whp would be about the limit of this turbo from what I've read - it splits the difference between the gt30r and the big wheel upgrades out there. In other words, maxing this turbo should really not be a problem for the stock engine if you're tuned properly and you can maintain fueling.
Quick edit - do you have any logs of MAF airflow and/or VE airflow lbs/min with your set up?
Thanks!
eh we run 26.2 psi on a gt3076r on pump gas no meth and the car loves it.
going for 30psi on meth in 2 weeks (not my idea) we shall see what happens.
As we say, if it dies, it dies lol.

ok just throwing this out there dont flame me. but wouldnt the GT2871R be a bigger turbo that a mitsi 20g? im gettin a 20g upgrade from hahn and they said its good for 500 ponies. just trying to understand why what i think would be a bigger turbo( just going by numbers dont know much about turbos) would push less hp than a smaller one
from what i understand a 20G is a hair larger than what i got. im not worried about much im just lookin for 400whp( thats enough to have fun with) then when i get back from my next deployment ill build the internals and tranny and throw a FP Red on it and go for 500whp and a 100 shot on it also.
oo i gotcha. i was just figured yaknow a gt2871 would be bigger than a 20g(yaknow 28>20) haha shows how mutch i know. man good luck with that build should be one nasty ****. im sopposed to be 400-430 hp with hahns kit. look into them man they might cost a little more but their **** is top notch.
