So how much power can the lnf engine handle safely until you need to do internal work?

It's not a question of how much power it can handle as much as it is a question of how long it can handle however much power. I'm sure the long block could withstand 450 hp for 25K miles, but it would definitely handle 350hp for a much longer period of time. I'm betting the transmission gives up before the long block in most cases.

You only need springs if you're going to rev above 6500RPM. If you're making big power with a bigger turbo, you'll probably want to rev out to 7K RPM, since you're pushing enough air out of a larger turbo to get you there without running out of breath. In that case, you would want springs. You do valves only when you bend or break one. You don't need cams.

They bent the rods at 5XX whp, I would say the pistons and rings probably should be replaced around the +450 whp mark?

but like the one guy said, if your at 450 whp it wont last as long and 350. so if you want 400+ i personally would build the motor for longevity

Also pretty sure the Ecotec racing team used a stock crank to 1k whp with modifications to the oiling passages?

^^^Don't quote me on that, just trying to go off memory. Its been a long time since I read that info.

they said you're cool running between 400-420 whp.. anything higher is pushing it for a bent rod.

I'll be doing springs, sleeves, and pistons at 350whp in prep for 450whp. Better safe than sorry.

400whp reliably for years. 500whp for one year. Most important thing is the tune though.

I personally am not going in the 400s, My goal is to be at 350-375whp and no higher. To me that's reliable.

99% possitive GM used the forged Eagle crankshaft (now discontinued) in their drag engines.

I know the were using the stock GM crank bearings tho and IIRC honda GSR rod bearings.

LNF's are tough motors, it all lies in the tune tho...so make sure to get a GOOD TUNE!

25K, thats alot of WOT driving

DDing it it doesn't matter how much peak power you make as your not using it. IDK if they are anything like the Srt but drive it with out beating the hell out of it daily, and a spot on tune and 500whp is not out of the question. Though sure going WOT every chance you get will wear down the engine faster.
