Injector Service recommended by dealer - Necessary?

The other day when my 'balt was in getting the piece of sh$* rear brakes replaced (doing it myself next time) they told me I was due for "Injector Service" which is essentially a flush from what I understand. Is this really necessary? it's about $130 at the price they quoted me.

Thoughts?

its not bullshit... if you have over 100k on the car i wouldnt really do it. but it sure as **** better than sucking seafoam in through a vacuum hose, bc the injector cleaner actually is injected into the fuel rail and through the injectors and cleans the intake valves too.

Well i am assuming because this is a newer car that it isn't high mileage. The dealer is trying to do a service that only makes them money and doesn't help.

You put seafoam in vacuum hose, gas and oil so it's probably about the same ore better because it will help with the intake valves on direct injection.

22800 mi so far.

It has ran fantastic the whole time. I did have one strange thing happen the other day though.

I was pulling away from a light slow/average speed and the road was narrowing so I went to 'goose' it to get in front of the car beside me and it was like someone SLAMMED on the brakes. It hesitated to such a degree it was like the entire electrical system shut off for a split second. I have fairly fast reflexes so I was out of the throttle immediately so as not to do any damage. After a few seconds, wanting to see if it happened again (I was going just a little faster now too) I rolled on again, this time with NO issues. Full throttle roll-on from about 2500rpm no issues.

The only thing I can guess is too much throttle at too low RPM? Anyway, it only happened once and hasn't re-occurred. I thought perhaps it was related to the injector service that I just turned down a week earlier..hehe.

Injector service is done through the vacuum line and a cleaner itself sprayed into the throttle body, the third step is usually an additive poured into the gas tank. Did these many times for customers knowing it was a overpriced seafoam treatment.

There is alot of stuff they do that is so shady, I caught a dealer rubbing my air filter on my last truck on the fender well, watched him do it then laughed at him when he came in to tell me it was dirty and I needed a new one.

My car hasn't been to the dealer since I rolled it off the show room floor. It should be funny to hear what they have to say about the big turbo when I take it in for the steering recall.

We have a machine at work made by a company called motorvac. It works by me disabiling the fuel pump and the vehicle runs off the mixture of gas and cleaning detergent in the machine.Does a decent job. Seafoam is the best way to clean a motor of carbon buildup hands down. I have fixed many vehicles that have came into my work with driveability issues due to carbon buildup. It works better than any cleaner i have ever used.My advise to anybody is to seafoam your vehicle every 30k miles and use good quality gas and you will never have dirty carboned up injectors and just engines in general. Go buy a $10 bottle of seafoam and save the hundread dollars cuz it will do a way better job than any carbon cleaning service any repair shop offers.
