Injen CAI Hesitation HELP!!

I just installed my Injen CAI and now the car hesitates while crusing around 35-40 mph while the rpms are about 2000-2700. If I got WOT the car responds fine, it just bugs me that its hesitating, as if you had cruise control on an you're going down a hill, that kind of hesitation. Only while I'm driving on a flat surface at a steady speed. I've tried cleaning my MAF a couple times and no luck. Also I am tuned, and the tune was done pre CAI install on factory airbox... I figured that the Injen with its "factory safe A/F ratios tuned intake, MR Step Down" blah blah that it wouldn't change that much from the stock airbox and would be safe to install after the tune. Please advise, I appreciate any input anyone has on this! Thank you!

Also, no CELs either...

Your MAF calibration is skewed, the same thing happened to me. I re-calibrated my MAF using HP Tuners and it corrected the hesitation issues.

I did however lose a ton of torque...

I'm tuned by ZZP, and it ran GREAT up until I installed the Injen CAI... I figured it was something with the MAF tables...

I also have noticed some torque loss as well... Looks like I might go back to stock airbox...

Yeah my LTFT's were way off, it caused all kinds of drivability issues. I actually got my car dynoed as well, and it showed a loss of HP under 4k RPM and a loss of torque (18wtq at peak!) across the board...Very disappointing.

X2. With my Dejon SRI off I lost some peak HP but overall powerband is better with the stock airbox on. I might be gettin AEM's intake pending some results on it.

AEM is winning the battle of intakes right now.

It seems that it keeps the A/F closer to where it should be. HBSS/TC has dyno sheets of before and after and they show good gains up top 20 whp or so and a very good powerband (no torque loss at all and A/F seems to be spot on compared to the stock airbox) because the MAF relocation I guess. There is a reason that AEM relocates the MAF!!!! I should have gone with my first instinct and gotten the AEM intake instead of Dejons.

Well the CIA intake is a myth as much as the GM Stage kit.

I'm still completely at a loss as to what would cause such a loss of torque with the Injen intake. If its design is relatively close to AEM's, then the only thing I could think of is the MAF location- And that doesn't make any sense to me.

I believe the issue is turbulance around the MAF more than the diameter of the intake tube being different from stock. The air is swirling around instead of hitting the sensor strait on. The AEM intake relocated the MAF closer to the filter and that is more like the stock design where the MAF is a few inches from the airfilter. That should help with the turbulance issue. HBSS/TCs dynosheet shows a pretty consistant A/F from the stock box to the AEM intake. I am hoping he will post up some data as to his fuel trims on saturday or sunday.
