Injen CP and oil changes

I'm just curious if anyone who has the injen CP has had any problems with their dealers and oil changes. The reason I ask is because I found through searching the forums that it may make it hard to get to the oil filter. I take my car to the dealer for all work that is done on it, except the mods which I do myself, and I doubt that I'll be taking anywhere else and that is why I ask. Thanks for the help.

Its easy, you loosen up both clamps on the upper pipe at each end and pull the pipe off. When your done, reattach the pipe and tighten up the clamps, its all done.

Theres no reason to take the Injen cp's off. Theres another thread adressing this same issue. I use a 10" extension and the oil cap socket. I reach down under the pipe and drop the socket on the cap nut, then I lower the extension from the top right onto the socket and ratchet away. Takes two seconds.

I dont know what a dealer would do. I prefer to do my own oil changes. They may even refuse to do the oil change if you come in with those pipes on the engine.

Is that you doing it yourself, or is that a dealer? I just don't want them to refuse to change my oil.

I've never done it on this car, but I'm sure it can't be too hard. I really just prefer to have the dealer do it, I don't really know why lol, but maybe I will start doing it myself if I have too. How do you reset the oil life?

How much does your dealer charge? Mine charges 52 for Mobil1. I do Royal Purple for the same price by myself.

It can be done with the pipe on. ive done it twice before. the only problem is there isnt much room to get the filter out so you kinda get oil on and around the CP

I always do it myself. I hate other people touching any maintenance on my car.

I do all of my own work on my car..but when I bought it my dealer said an oil change is 126!! and If I got 4 a year I would get free tires. lol

I still do it and it only takes 10 mins I think it would take longer to take it in.

Nor have I, if you are careful you won't even get oil on the cp.

rather do my own oil change anyways, because dealers are so stupid when it comes working on cars.

def do your own oil. It takes like 15 min to do. its cake. longest part is letting the oil drain.

If you leave the charge pipe intact you can still get the filter out (tight fit and gets oil on everything tho).

Best bet is to loosen the 10mm nut/washer on the vibramount (on the block) and the 1st (upper) clamp connected to the mid coupler. then just swing the pipe out of the way. takes less than 30 sec.

good luck.

I snapped some pics of mine. You dont need to, its a tad tight taking the filter out and in, but no big deal.

I pulled off my top Injen CP last time to change my oil it added an extra 4 minutes onto my oil change time lol. Next time I will try without removing the CP.
