INSTALLED! Hahn Intercooler; charge piping; down-pipe and 3" exhaust

Im gonna have to do this now! haha Initially when I bought this car I wasnt too sure about doing an exhaust because I was afraid of how it would sound, but thats sweet! Im thinking CAI, dp and catback, IC and charge piping, and then GMs tune!
Cant Wait!
Im correct in thinking that without a tune we wont get much if any increase in performance right?? Which leads me to ask, has there been a final verdict yet on wether or not the GM tune will allow other mods? Or should I be thinking of doing hahns PPC we the other mods instead? Id rather go with GMs tune but only if Itll take the other mods...

The dam woman is so busy taking care of our prego friend I'm having to get these vids myself. I promise NLT this weekend I'll post up two or three more. I wanna get a couple with the "BOV" sound from the exterior and also a couple flybys(One at a low speed and another at like 3rd gear WOT) Having a total of like 7 vids on here with audio should give anyone considering an exhaust an idea if the Hahn is the sound they want. Believe me it is!
~I've gotta make up my mind on something that I've got working on a GM sponsored tuner in Houston OR something that Bill Hahn mentioned to me that sounds pretty good. Not sure he's make it public to the site yet. :P Sorry if I let the cat out of the bag Bill. :P

~Yeah I'm gonna add on air intake when one becomes AVAB that's performing well. I'm definately NOT going with GM's tune asthey are far too conservative. The intel for the GM "stage kit" says 315HP and I think like 340tq. That's NOT WHP. There are at least 3 ways I know of I could get tuned to get 305-310 Whp and 350-360Tq at the wheels. That's an extra 10% easy. I'm obviously not TOO worried about warranty at this point considering I've installed several parts that are "supposed" to void warranty....but as I've said I've got a hook up with a tech at a dealership here....so no GM tune for me. Other than that it looks like we will have the same set up.

makes sense. Funny as it is to say....there are Vettes everywhere that people can't **** with......how many Cobalts are out there makin people look stupid? I LOVE people talkin **** about my car. I love people calling it a "slowbalt" or that's it's "just a new Cavalier". I just play it stupid and if they keep it up I ask if they wanna race in a way that they think I really wouldn't....."just so I can see how bad they would beat me.....that I think I might be able to stay close." Then after I put a couple/three lengths on them and shut it down....I put a ho hum look on my face when I get out of the car and listen to the excuses. These cars are greatly unrespected on the street bc it's a Cobalt.....not a Vette. Soon mine will be able to hang with or handle some Vettes out there. HP:Weight ratio is a ****! :P

He's amazingly determined and persuasive, and too nice to resist
OK, OK, while that's all very true, the rest of the story is this...we will release beta versions of our product to the field before full product release for evaluation and feedback. It's all part of the approach that a company 20-years strong uses to make sure that when we offer something to the public, it's been thoroughly evaluated in all the ways a truly quality product should be. We don't rush. We don't need to
We could just tell you it's good because we say so...and with our credentials, it'd be hard to argue. But real product development is so much more!
I can jump in here...it is indeed 3".
Our 2.75" pipes are used in our N/A and S/C applications, as well as milder turbo installations.

what a great guy
where my e-mail at lol
I Love it! I cant wait to get my exhaust and charge piping in. Hopefully I can get a downpipe order first part of January. Hahn, Way to produce an excellent product! You have my business for as long as I own my cobalt!
Hi. I am new here and just wanted to show you what is going on with my HHRSS. I know its not a Cobalt but it is the same platform. Here is a post from the HHR Forum I put up. Bill Hahn has been using my SS as there test mule for product develoment for the HHR and here is the latest results. Enjoy.
Here is a list of parts on the SS. Hahn-intercooler, hard piping, 3" high polished stainless exhaust, 3" stainless down pipe with no convertor, and Hahn tune. The car made 300+whp and 350+wtq. I am sure Bill will post the dyno results.
I really thought the car ran good when I dropped it off, but now it almost flys. The drive home was smooth and the SS ran flawlessly. I am really impressed with how quiet the exhaust is. When you first start it it has a nice rumble and while driving it is amazeing how quit it is in the cabin. From the inside while running it through the gears it sounds awesome. Not too loud but you know it isn't stock. If any of you have ever owned or heard a Corsa exhaust you know what I mean when I say it is Quiet when you want it to be and loud when you need it to be. I am very pleased with the result of Hahn RaceCrafts exhaust. There is no drone and it doesn't sound ricey. I have the Magnaflow on my Solstice GXP and I really wish Bill would make a system for it. I would buy it in a heart beat. Remember the SS has no convertor and Bill did a great job with the O2 sensor placement because it hasn't put out any codes. If you can run without a convertor I would recomend it for the big increse in HP. I also really like the way Bill extended the exhaust tip out away from the rear fascia. This should help with discoloraction and soot.
I am really impressed with the tune Bill has come up with. To me it is perfect. You can increse rpm in each gear as easy as you want and what I have found this is great on slick roads. If you you need full boost just put it to the floor and hang on. It spins in first, second and third. If you only want 5 lbs. or 10 lbs. of boost you can hold it there real easy, and pull up to red line. I haven't noticed any turbo lag, just a lot of tire spin if you want. I would say this thing is a 12 sec. machine. It is very smooth at any speed and when you have the need for speed it is awsome. It goes triple didgits real quick. Everytime I take it back to them it comes home faster and this time there is a huge difference, and I really like what they have done. It is really fun to take it out now and learn how to drive with the new power.
Here is a link to a post from Bill on the dyno results. Post #1 is with Bill's tune and post #2 is with the BSR tune.

NO problem man!!! You are simply adding confirmation to my statements and unintentionally making me more eager than ever to give in to a tune ASAP. I MIGHT be miffed if you got on my thread and were talkin ****, but it's all good :P I've got 3 very reputable offers to get my car tuned with similar results... I really want to give loyalty to Hahn....my only fret is that getting a "canned" tune as it's called vs a tune for MY single car as every car has variances could make the difference between my car running really well and running perfect for my mods. I've heard enough horror stories to make me sweat it a lil. If I lived anywhere near Hahn I'd have driven there the day of install and had them dyno and tune me. Not my luck as it is.

As I said before....I'm not using the GM tune (when it comes to tuning, in my mind... "GM" stands for "Gains Minimal") LOL I just made that **** up. Might stick, I like it! Anyways, I'm already beyond warranty so I figure I might as well get the best bang for the buck with the best opportunity for further tuning later on. GM is too conservative and it's no secret that non-GM tunes get far more performance. I'm not trying to MAX OUT my engine/mods.....just trying to get the best of what I've spent $ on.

You arent really that far beyond warranty right now are you? I mean the dp and catback dont really affect it, and everything else can easily be swapped back to stock and probably arent traceable. I think its the tune that really voids your warranty, that and messing more with the internals. But Im just speculating.
