yea, it sounds real good. I went muffler delete and catless DP with mine. All I have on there is a magnaflow resonator. Thats it though. Check these out tell me what u think:

I cant watch those since i'm on break at work, but I take it you have an SC by your name, but I heard the turbo kind of acts like a muffler in a way, so would TC with a catless DP and a muffler delete be quieter than an SC with the same?

hehe, I got a turbo 2.4l.

In theory, u are correct. An SC application will have a more raspy note than a turbo.

Sound good man. No rasp at all, I love the way Hahn's exhaust sounds, it is just so expensive. What kind of numbers did your car put down with your tune?

Still waiting for Bill to send my PCM back with the intake I ordered. Looking to get that back and put the intake on.....and spend a couple days driving it around so the car talks to itself I guess and I know everything is running right. Looking to get some dyno time 5-8Jan. I WILL get dyno vids and graphs.

I'm hopin to be really close but pretty sure I wont be higher. I'll make sure I know what kind of dyno it is too...not sure which read higher/lower but I'll let you guys know and I'll love the feedback I WILL get a vid of like 3 pulls.

Hey Bill~ did I read somewhere that these #'s are off of 3rd gear pulls? I thought 4th gear was the better 1:1. Is it more accurate to pull in 3rd vs 4th like in the LSJ?
Those numbers were standard not corrected. The corrected numbers will be far less because of the very cold conditions in Illinois right now. Corrected numbers are probably more like 290 whp 330 trq or so. That is why Bill says you results will vary. All his dyno sheets I have seen say STD on them not SAE. Their intake does help out a lot though, but I will be getting AEM's because their filters are far better than the K&N Hahn uses. Not knocking Hahn at all but I feel that there are far better filters out ther than K&N.

AEM Dryflow FTW! (Bill - maybe an option?)

Im waiting on the Hahn intake until the GM stg kit comes out. I want to be sure I will be able to use Hahns with it - No point in spending the money now, only to have to pull it out when that kit comes out!

I wouldn't wait for GM for 5 reasons:

1. Aftermarket tunes for the SS/SC are MUCH better than the GM kits, more power/less price (same will happen with the GM SS/TC kits we expect)

2. Price per HP, compared to aftermarket setups, will not be worth it.

3. The GM kits will limit what you can do, unlike custom tunes, where you can add a downpipe and benifit from it. The GM stage kit I am sure will still hold the "torque management" setting, so you get what you get, and that is it.

4. The intake will most likely be (99% sure) a short ram, warm air, similar to the K&N one for the 2.2/2.4L cobalt. CAI like Hahns will be much better.
5. It will most likely be 2010 before they are avaliable.

In re cap, IF you only want an intake (if it actually comes in the kit) and a GM tune, and will be happy with the GM numbers, AND NEVER a HP more, then that is a good plan. However if you want an exahust/downpipe/etc, why even wait for the GM setup?

Just my thoughts...

I'm from the government......I'm here to help. Be happy to. I'll have to get the woman to help film that one. Not sure where I could get a dig to 120 though. Big risk around here but I'll see what I can do. probably be 10 or 12 days. I wanna get the intake installed with the tune..... then drive it moderatley for a couple days before I hammer on it. Got a lot to do and I have ankle surgery 9Jan too so I'll do my best to get some good audio and video clips. Cant wait to hear this intake with the BOV. :P

No argument there
2. Price per HP, compared to aftermarket setups, will not be worth it.
For the cost of a pure tune, that is correct. But the kit will be coming with more than just a tune. The sensors appear to be capable of reading higher than the stock sensors, and add a MAP clamp.
3. The GM kits will limit what you can do, unlike custom tunes, where you can add a downpipe and benifit from it. The GM stage kit I am sure will still hold the "torque management" setting, so you get what you get, and that is it.
One of the things the stg1 kit will (well is supposed to, no reports of trq limiting on the other forums where the kit has already been released) do is remove the trq management. Allowing bolt ons to actually do something without having to tune for it.
4. The intake will most likely be (99% sure) a short ram, warm air, similar to the K&N one for the 2.2/2.4L cobalt. CAI like Hahns will be much better.
There is no doubt that Hahns intake will be better in my mind. However, since the kit will be coming with a new MAF sensor, can anyone say it will work on Hahns intake? Just one of the reasons I'm waiting.
5. It will most likely be 2010 before they are avaliable.
The kit is already out for the other LNF platforms, and GM has stated first quarter of 2009 for the Cobalts.

Mostly good points, but factory warranty is very important to me, and if you are unlucky enough to get that tech that checks your computer for an aftermarket tune, goodbye warranty. Chances are slim, I know, but the potential still exists. Since GM added the flash tracking into the computer, even if you flash it back to stock they can still make trouble and detect it wasn't always stock. This is why I would prefer to wait for the stage kit from GM - Warranty. If the rumors of removed trq management are true, then boltons will still make a difference. If we get the same sensors as the other LNF guys, then in the future aftermarket tuning will be even more capable than it is now, once the tune is unlocked. (oh, and its TQ management, not HP management. In theory, it should be possible to get more HP but remain at 260tq.)

The real point is, we don't know what we will be getting with the stage kit until it comes out. Why would I spend money on parts I may not be able to use now, when I can wait a month or two, buy those parts then, and KNOW what I can and can't use?

Once I am sure, I WILL be buying the intake - thats for certain. Once Bill comes out with a high flow cat version of his downpipe, I will be purchasing that too. And once I hit 40-45k miles, I wont be as worried about the warranty and will do the tune, but until then I am installing all of the supporting mods for a bad ass ride, and the supporting mods for a future turbo swap.

The Blazer SS is slower than the SS\TC stock for stock and the G8 GT is about equal with the SS\TC... Gas prices went down for political reasons..... Oil is at $40 a barrel but gas prices just went up over 15 cents the other day from 1.42 to 1.60 a gal. and Obama says we pay far to little for our gasoline... A friend in the DOE (Department of Energy) says $3.20+ a gal is just 6-8 months away again.......Sounds like some people are well off, must be nice.... you can afford the gas....

Update:
My PCM and intake arrive in the mail tomorrow at some point. I'm hoping to finish installing the intake tomorrow before dark if it gets here in time. If so I'll get a pic or two posted. I've already got the woman committed for the next couple of days or more to help get some good pics and vids. Can't wait to hear the turbo spool and BOV sound differences!

Leave it off. I have a catback that's been on for 6 months with no insulation there. No problems.
