Intake and turbo inlet size

Ok guys i have a dejon intake and i want to get a silicone coupler/reducer to replace the rubber one that came with the intake. Anybody can tell me what is the size of the dejon intake and the turbo inlet so i can buy the right coupler/reducer.

Matt at TTP in Toms River is about as good as it gets for tuning on the east coast. Especially when it comes to GM. When did you get your tune?

Hang in there. Someone should be able to check into this for you. Did you try looking up Dejohn's website to see if they give specs on the intake and coupler?

EDIT: Just called them real quick and it is a 2-3/4" pipe with a special clamp that they give you to connect the coupler to the compressor inlet. From the way he made it sound, you should be fine just ordering a 2-3/4" coupler. Let's wait for another LNF guy to confirm...

I already have the intake on..they gave me a rubber coupler that had another rubber piece to fit inside of it so it can go around the turbo. The reason i want to change it is because as tight as i can make it with the worm gear clamps it loosens. In fact it popped off on me at the track the other night. so i figured a silicone coupler/reducer and maybe a set of t-bolt clamps will help me out.

The t-bolt clamps will solve your issue altogether. Worm clamps are junk.

If you can't down the car for a few hours while you disassemble and hitch a ride to the auto store, then I would just encourage you to do one of two things:

1) Wait for someone else on here to chime in w/ the correct info.
2) Take some time this weekend with a tape measure to remove the couplers and take a measurement to order the silicone couplers online.

Come on LNF guys, help the guy out...

yeah good thing i got a another car so i can take the time...not that its hard cuz installing the thing take like 10 min....the funny thing is that i'm a manager at my local parts store...if nobody fills me in with the right info i'll probably just do some measuring no biggie.

I had this happen to me the day after I installed mine. Check the angle of the intake and make sure its sitting on the turbo flush. If it isnt it wont stay secure for long. I repositioned mine and cranked it down and now its been on for over a month without issue.

The couple that comes with it is **** though. Like you said its a large coupler with a smaller diameter section forced inside of it for the turbo side. Im not sure of the diameters, but you are correct you will need a coupler with a reducer because the intake is larger than stock.

I was going to replace it too, but I finally got the intake situated correctly and havent had any more issues since that one time....so Id try that first.

Good info, keep track of whatever you do if you replace/upgrade parts, because others may need the part #'s and whatnot. Good luck!

ok so i can't find anybody that sells a reducer coupler that goes from 2 3/4" to 2 3/8"...The closest i get is 2 3/4" to 2 1/4"...anybody got any ideas? Dave from dejon told me that the coupler they provided should be fine...personally i just don't like the fact of having a piece of a coupler inside a main coupler to fit... hey how bout the guys with the hahn intakes, what type of coupler they give you?

Use the 2-1/4" w/ a heat gun and make it fit. I've fit a 2-1/2" filter on a 3" pipe before. Heat it and stretch it out over the pipe. So long as you have a decent clamp (t-bolt), it'll be just fine...

Dont know the size, but its silicon. However mine was too big, I was unable to use the worm clamps that came with it to bolt it to the turbo. When cold, the coupler could slide on and off the turbo with absolutely no effort. I used the stock t-bolt clamp that came with the stock piping and no problems there..

T-bolts FTW.

No down time needed. Geometry is your friend - measure circumference with string and do the math. If you don't want to do the math, use the web.
