Intakes, What a mess, and downpipe update

Competition is good, but in the case of this particular car its giving me quite a headache.
I have it narrowed down to three intakes:
Clear Image Auto CAI
Hahn CAI
Clear Image Auto SRI

So here is a question for those more knowledgable than me about it. Obviously a short ram intake is going to suck up far more heat than a cold air, but the longer tube of the cold air intake is less condusive to getting air into the motor. Does the shorter air travel out weigh the increase in inlet temperature on the short ram intake?

Has anyone received their SRI and would like to post more information about it?

If I went the CAI intake route im leaning toward the hahn, but I know they had some early issues with fitment. Did those issues get resolved?

A final wrench in the spokes is I know each intake has it's pros and cons with the placement of the MAF and it's effects on power top end to bottom end. How do these units compare on that front, at keeping the trim closer to stock levels.

I installed my downpipe this weekend, thanks Clear Image Auto. The fabrication is excellent and installation was a breeze; I'm extremely happy with the purchase and would highly recommend this product to anyone. I can post some before and after videos of the sound, admittedly my camera doesn't take the best audio but it gets the job done.

Awaiting vids of the DP.

I had a similar question about the SRI's. If you compress air to say 15psi, does it more or less reach a certain temperature regaurdless of intake temp?

ZERO fitment problem with my hahn. took an hour and half to install..an hour of that was time trying to get a fan going in the garage...was hot as *****. no CELs or anything. good luck with your choice

i have some fitment issues with the Hahn intake, not going to lie. It is hitting the air conditioning line right at the intake coupler, not a big deal but ehh. it also rubs alittle on the opening to the fender well. I am in the process of fixing it tonight or on wed, but its not a big deal. Also tuning is an issue, i have a good tuner, (BYT**SS**Turbo) and he tuned my LTFT to .8 which is within the 2% range -1 to 1

How's the newer issue with the PCV nipple popping the hose off?

I think the early Hahn intakes didn't have this issue, but that later ones did after they redesigned the nipple to another "universal" design.

Sub'd for CIA findings. I agree that the theory of a SRI means it has an airflow advantage, but also wonder about the temp vs airflow as far as its effects on power. Good questions.

Catted, I personally find the fumes of catless downpipes to be well, undesireable. And hearing the volume of the catted, I am glad it is not louder.

I have the CIA SRI and did a little write up on it about a month or so ago. The SRI stays right around 5-7 deg warmer than the outside temp according to the RPD and Scangauge I have. The stock setup was about 3deg difference from outside temp.

But I have an idea to get more cold air to the filter I just haven't had to to put it in motion to find the parts I'm looking for. Pic are in my gallery.

At first my Hahn CAI rubbed a little on the ac line but all it need was a little readjusting and now its been perfect for the last 3000 miles. It was the first thing i did to the car and prob my favorite. sounds amazing

In Florida even when moving down the hwy in the summer my Dejon SRI was seeing 15-20 above ambient and it would be up to 50-60 above ambient when stopped.

I ordered the Cold air intake from Clear Image Automotive in the middle of July and it has been lets see

SEVEN weeks and it's not even shipped yet ... Go figure .. Better off just doing the stock airbox Mod .. Wish I would have spent the money on gauges ..

yup, I am about to head that direction ..

Sick of this waiting game **** . I don't care how well the product is designed . If it aint in your hands it aint worth 500 dollars IMO . Don't pre-sell **** if you can't even build it yet, keep giving everyone lame ass excuses to why it hasn't shipped yet, you think I give a **** if they ORDER the wrong elbows? ... Just going to make beef with people.. Especially since the product hasn't even proved itself and we are going off of what they say anyway .... If you feel like giving someone capital to fabricate a cold air intake CIA is the way to go .. If you feel like spending 20 bucks and getting just as good results , do the airbox mod ..

I hope the CIA CAI, CIA SRI, and/or GM Stage 2 end up showing some good results.

I saw the SRI write-up, but it didn't appear there was any logging with it, so technically we're still waiting.

Leaning towards the aftermarket route for a while now, I never thought I'd be as excited about the Stage 2 intake as I am.

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

I modded the stock intake w/ kn drop and and saw 33.3lbs @ the maf! The clear image cold air intake only showed 33.09lbs. My intake costed me $40 for intake and $4 in parts for mod the snorkel.

/ intake discussion

So how do we (I) do this? I'm not going to go out and buy a tuner or anything, but if someone has one they want to put up for the cause I'm willing to log.

Had Hahn

Selling it. the K&N filter was sitting on my fog light. prolly bc it want tight enough,. but whatever. had to make a custom piece for the pvc line. works like a charm. had to buy a new coupler bc the ac line rubbed through the hahn one.

stock intake box is proly the way to go man. flows way btr. needs a little adjusting but it is all good.

only thing that bothers me is no BPV sound.
