This is great information everyone thanks. I guess for now I will go the air box mod route as well, and order the trifecta tune as well. Saves me quite a bit of coin in the short term at least.

Really appreciate all the feedback.

Sick of this waiting game **** . I don't care how well the product is designed . If it aint in your hands it aint worth 500 dollars IMO . Don't pre-sell **** if you can't even build it yet, keep giving everyone lame ass excuses to why it hasn't shipped yet, you think I give a **** if they ORDER the wrong elbows? ... Just going to make beef with people.. Especially since the product hasn't even proved itself and we are going off of what they say anyway .... If you feel like giving someone capital to fabricate a cold air intake CIA is the way to go .. If you feel like spending 20 bucks and getting just as good results , do the airbox mod ..
I understand your frustration as it is also my frustration. You are waiting for one intake to ship, I am waiting to ship 20. I would like nothing better than to get all of these parts out of my shipping room. The sale was posted as a "Pre-order" sale. We offered a discount to those ordering before production. As lame as the excuses may sound, they are the truth. I guess I could have been more creative but what would be the point? I didn't order the wrong silicone elbows, the supplier sent the wrong ones. I have been working at getting the silicone elbows so I can fill all orders. I have no control over the manufacturing process of the silicone parts. I can box and send everything else if it would make everyone feel better to have some parts. When the elbows come in I can send them alone. As for our products proving themselves, they have and the results have been verified by independent owners. We don't release products unless they are pretty much perfect and of the highest quality. When your intake kits arrive, they will be as close to perfect as possible with the best appearance, best fit, best performance, best flowing filter, best flowing/fitting silicone elbow and best workmanship available. AND, they function correctly with no codes, no poor fitting breather valve assembly or fuel trim issues.

The stock airbox mod may work fine but it still looks like a stock airbox. Our intakes are not only a performance up-grade, they are also a visual up-grade and a sound up-grade.

Sorry for thread jacking, sort of, but I didn't want to leave a frustrated owner hanging.
Thanks all.

Turbo cars are always quieter than non turbo cars. In our state, WA, a turbo is actually considered to be a "muffling device" and qualifies as a muffler. This is also the reason STS is able to sell 50 state legal rear mount turbo kits without mufflers.

Appearance is the only reason I think it is worth it ... IMO, I am just looking for a place to vent is all . No doubt in my mind that the intakes will be right after being shipped .. I just like to bitch LOL

I have it narrowed down to three intakes:
Clear Image Auto CAI

Clear Image Auto SRI

So here is a question for those more knowledgable than me about it. Obviously a short ram intake is going to suck up far more heat than a cold air, but the longer tube of the cold air intake is less condusive to getting air into the motor. Does the shorter air travel out weigh the increase in inlet temperature on the short ram intake?

Has anyone received their SRI and would like to post more information about it?

If I went the CAI intake route im leaning toward the hahn, but I know they had some early issues with fitment. Did those issues get resolved?

A final wrench in the spokes is I know each intake has it's pros and cons with the placement of the MAF and it's effects on power top end to bottom end. How do these units compare on that front, at keeping the trim closer to stock levels.

I installed my downpipe this weekend, thanks Clear Image Auto. The fabrication is excellent and installation was a breeze; I'm extremely happy with the purchase and would highly recommend this product to anyone. I can post some before and after videos of the sound, admittedly my camera doesn't take the best audio but it gets the job done.
I went with an AEM Intake with the dry filter. Installation was easy and fit perfect. Also looks good. The Filter is in the closed box in the right front bumper cover so it gets cool air all the time. The sensor is relocated to this area after the filter. I could feel the difference. 2009 SS TC AEM Intake , Dejon CP, Hahn catted DP, Jennetty 3 inch exhaust, Micky Thompson Drag Radials ,Ingalls Stiffy , OTT mount, Trifecta Infifite Boost Friday. Racing Saturday.

I like the sound of the CAI on Frank's car(Black08) but it didn't pull as good of numbers as a modded airbox. He's coming back out to try again with the tune, then goto the modded box if it's still not better.

I got my TC in February of this year...the stock tires are terrible on cold roads, and even worse in the slightest bit of snow. There is def. a reason that the stock tires are only supposed to be used when it's warmer out. If you have to drive your car in the winter...snow tires are highly recommended.

My suggestion is buy a winter beater...that's what I did...only spent a little more than what winter tires would of cost and now my balt can stay in the garage all winter and not be trashed by salt.

Haha yeah I just got my tires in today. Ordered some Bridgestone WS60's and got them shipped to my house for a little over $650 bucks... But one nice thing is I get a $50 mail in rebate!

iv thought about that and i came to the conclusion a winter beater will cost more money in the end, oil changes, tires, fixing the **** that breaks, u know all that good stuff. Why not just get a second set of rims and winter tires. i got 17's for 130ish each and my tires will cost my probably 110 each seeing they are on sale now. so thats around a grand, and both summer and winter tires will last longer since i only run on them half a year at a time. so in the long run, second set of rims and tires is the best way. i know how much beaters cost in the long run, not worth it.

I donno what to tell you mean, I really like that sound, I think most people do. Performance is #1, but I was happy to hear that it just doesnt rev up and down quick and quiet. It pops and gurgles back to the idle when I've rev'd it up. To each their own though, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
