intercooler spray

just wondering what people think is the best or easiest way to add a little mist to our i intercoolers I have noticed it seems to heat soak a bit easy.

my thoughts are some nozzles all run off a pump plumbed into the wiper resivor put to a button in cab or to a boost switch.

I'm not looking to add performance just maintain it.

Wouldn't intercooler spray be just as effective as meth injection? I mean both are meant to create cooler intake air.

yeah but you don't have to retune for intercooler spray. I am running the stock tune right now until GM releases the stage one kit.

Intercooler spray might net you around 10 hp on a 300hp car, assuming you're a tuned LNF.

I saw an SRT4 on speed where they tried that cry02 system out, they made about that. I'm planning on running one eventually.

Yeah.

Spraying something around your front wheels is real smart.

I would hope it sprays directly on the intercooler and not towards anything else. I would like to see the system actually spray. I.E. direction and if it's more liquid or misty

It's co2, so it's not even a wet spray, it's just compressed co2 like in paintball guns. Not dangerous at all.

So is it sprayed like a fog? and how is it sprayed across the entire intercooler.

They have like 4 different points where it sprays, and if you've ever played around with a co2 bottle that got punctured, you'll know it's freaking cold. Spraying directly on the intercooler gets it cold fast. Look it up on youtube or something, lots of people have done similar setups.

CO2 is a GOOD idea.

The water sprayer that comes with the Toys package is FAIL IMO.

the STI's have a water sprayer as well(stock)
its just water that cools down the intercooler since its on top of the motor...
but ive seen alot on builds on tv and they have co2 spray too.

yeah I could see making my own co2 sprayer out of a relay controlled valve and a 20 oz paintball gun tank. because 500 is too much.

but I am after the effects of anti heat soak I really don't care about hp. and yeah I know I know buy a new intercooler. But if I do this I am going to make it so it can be removed and installed easily.

I found an interesting website

http://www.cryofuzion.com/spraybar.htm

don't know how reliable the source is but it does kinda make sense, I don't think I have to worry about that though using water/meth.

I think I will try to run a momentary switch to the stock tank and wire it to 12vdc so I can bypass having to have the wipers come on and run some tubing down to the intercooler and put two nozzles on on either side and see what I get.
