On the SS/SC you have to pull the splash guard infront of the drivers side wheel . The easiest way is to pull the front DS wheel off and then unscrew the plastic bottom of the splash guard . Pull all the screws underneath and three from the bottom up.. in the wheel well . Then pull the splash down and hold it or fold it around to where the ground holds it it's self. You will then see the Air box. There are 4 screws that hold the bottom on . Once you do it a couple of times you can get it down to a 10min job.

The headlight removal trick only works with a aftermarket intake , at least i could never see a way to get the filter to drop out the bottom of the air box with the splash guard still hooked up.
