K&N drop in

Is it really worth getting, and which one do you buy? I've been thinking of just getting one for now, but I wouldnt think they had one out specifically for the SS/TC.

I bought a K&N drop in with the cleaner kit becasue I live on an extremely dusty dirt road in the desert.

I love K&N

as soon as I dropped mine in I could immediatley notice boost building quicker and I could hear the factory return style BOV

I like it ... it is worth the 30 bucks ..

Go to Advanced autoparts and they have our cars in the system but same airfilter is used for the 2.2's pretty sure ..

K&Ns actually perform quite badly in dirty environments, sure you can clean them, but they arn't filtering all that well compared to the stock element.

Clean K&Ns allow more and larger particles through than the stock elements.

Interesting, I "thought" the micron rating was higher on the K&N's Vs OEM...

I believe the maintenence schedule says once every 6 months. For info on cleaning and supplies, go on their website.

There is no micron rating on the K&N or really any other filter. They say on their site that their filtering efficiency is between 96-99%. GM minimum requirement for filtering efficiency is 98.7%.

X2. That is the correct part number. I bought mine for like $51.88. I can hear the by-pass valve louder. The turbo spools up a little quicker, and a little louder...

Its alittle bit louder, but nothing to spectacular. Anything is better than stock though.

$47.99 + taxes, thats what it was here in TN. Autozones website had it listed for $47.99 aswell, so I dont know where someone got $30.

uh...i believe the cleaning interval is a lot longer than that. of course depending on the conditions where you live (paved vs dusty roads). drop in filters are cleaned about every 50000 miles if driven on mainly paved roads.
