I dunno... I still feel like you're going to have problems with a non-stock turbo and stock tune. Especially after doing something drivetrain related, Techs typically go around the block to make sure whatever it is is working correctly. There's therefore no guarantee it's going to stay it out of boost.

On another note: If you're wanting something stock-looking with some real gains, I'd suggest the BNR Stage 1 K04-GT28. It's the same externally, while having the larger exhaust wheel to help drive the larger compressor wheel (not to mention that the GT28 compressor wheel is larger that the K04+'s too... allowing more flow).

Yea, Im not saying its the best idea. But if he really just uses it to drive to the station and back, and doesn't do WOT pulls on the stock tune, it should be fine really.

Is the Stage 1 gt2860 wheel bigger than the k04+? I was wondering about that, Does anyone know how much bigger the 2860 wheel is by chance?

Yes.

Not sure how much. The specs for the K04-GT28 are in the thread. It would depend on which K04+ though...

Update:

Here are the official specs on the stock K04 vs. K04-GT28... Compare against your favorite flavor of K04+
