I am so annoyed. This sound is during warm until 189 or if the engine is warm and I turn the car on it lasts about 1 minute and goes away.

Could be a lash adjuster, a bad cam follower or just a noisy HP fuel pump. Odd that the noise changes so much when it goes into closed loop though. Awfully metallic sounding in the vid.

Could be a lash adjuster that quiets down with heat and oil or just injector noise.

Can you get a stethoscope to listen to the injectors under the intake manifold & HPFP?

My car does the same thing. Its been doing it forever since it was almost new. Once the car is warm it goes away. I still beat on it all the time, no issues. Your car is probably okay.

What temp is it right now where you live? Is this on cold start ups only? How many miles on the car? I have always assumed it is my car just warming up. Precisely why I don't give it any juice until it gets up to op temp.

direct injection

That noise is not the valves. It is the cold start in the direct injection. It is spraying more fuel to get the engine warmed up.

I think you are right. Hard to tell in the vid for sure. I had the cat warmup disabled for so long I forgot all the racket it made, that would explain why it quiets down when it goes closed loop.

That is why I suggested he listen to the injectors in my post above.

Pull the valve cover. Look and see if you can find anything only takes a few minutes.
