he said the retune fee would be $275 for the ftw-k04r. basically he can go pound sand, i am done with crap tunes and 2 month waits. when the new turbo comes i will cut my losses and get hp tuned

Anyone know how much people on here charge to tune on HP tuners? for example, term?

 

term is 350 I believe. but he doesn't charge u 275 when u add something like injectors like those trifecta robbers do

 

But you have to either own HP Tuners or know a friend who does you can't "rent" a unit to tune your car

 

Are TRE Products really that bad.. I was really looking forward too having TRE everything but **** if its bad its bad... I mean My buddies I/C with Full piping went on w/o a hitch and hes yet to have problems.... **Currently there are 2 intakes from TRE, one with MAF in and the other w/ No MAF (relacated to I/C pipe) I'lll be running the CAI for the relocated MAF.. Mandatory Tune for both intakes

 

You mean charge you $275 and not even adjust for the opel injectors so your LTFT is -16% LOL. If you saw how easy it is to compensate for the opel injectors you would laugh. Some other things like good MAF tuning and good WG tuning take time and an expert hand.

 

I guess I need to start charging $300 for retunes and making people wait weeks or months for new files

Before you go out and waste all your money on useless mods ( like I have done in the past on multiple cars I owned lol)......take your time and make good first decisions. You will save a ton over running out and buying a bunch of crap that doesn't work...For example I plan on buying HP tuners myself. For the price of having someone else do it for you and the price of useless mods you could own it yourself and go through the learning process of using it.

 

Yes Treadstone **** sucks.

Their parts were never really tested with our cars.

The intake does NOT fit 100%. it requires a lot of cussing and positioning. Thats why I cut it off and made an SRI out of it.

 

And Just Like that TRE is off my to Buy list.. hell I guess that norrows down my exhaust Choice to Turbo XS as well... Now to Find a new I/C and Matching Pipe.... Call me Wired but its gotta match my head Geeks out at the idea of a Turbo XS i/C ZZP lower, InJEN UPPER, and Hahn intake..... NO Just NO! gotta match (call it OCD if you wanna) so any ideas, Ima do some more reading but would appriciate your input as well...all of you

 

the only two companies that offer all matching parts are TurboXS and ZZP. However TurboXS's intercooler is overpriced imo.

I am going to be buying MPX intercooler here soon and selling my Tr10.

 

DO NOT DO HAHN!!! I have hahn IC, IC pipes, intake, DP and exhaust. All the pipes are rusting IC plus intake and my intercooler split on a weld cracked on a bend and is leaking from another weld BUT I thing their exhaust is great I would 100% recommend it but it's not too loud but it's what I wanted. I am replacing all my hahn stuff other than the exhaust I have a ZZP intercooler and I'm ordering a new coldpipe this week from ZZP

Yeah OP, dont buy hahn either. I had a Hahn CAI and it started rusting to ****.

 

I don't think Stephen tuned your car. Vince(master tuner) does them all I think.

Trifecta is bad for 1:Wait times on re-tuning 2: Conservative tuning 3: Buy that damn red cable for $100.

The wait times through BNR were reasonable. Took me two weeks to get a revised ECP tune through BNR.

If you contact Steven @ WOT-TUNING(Trifectas newish site) he will speed up the process for you(vince's right hand man?)

I might still go HPT in the future. But Trifecta has served me decently.

 

Either way his tune was a complete piece of crap. Fuel trims were horrible like -16 LTFT and -25% total fuel trim and the car was extremely slow for a ZFR car like no faster than a stock turbo. Not cheaper though when he hits people up for $275 for a fuel mass tweak for the opel injectors and other little easy changes.

 

Agreed no one should run trifecta my friends car is tuned so rich everywhere I'd send vince my gas bills

 

I think he chooses to respond when he feels like it. I know this guy who pretty much talks to Vince thru FB im and gets his stuff done fairly quickly.

I was like Vince takes a while to get back to folks, he was like no he dont Im talking to him right now. He showed me his phone And sure nuff he was.

 

HOT DAMN, Do you now what you 2 just did! I was literally on the Hanh website card in hand... I mean I'm only buying the exhaust today but damn if i wasn't thinking of going all out with it.....
