Is the GMS1 kit completely plug and play or is actual tuning involved?

You install the map sensors, and connectors and drive to the dealer, staying out of boost. They hook it up to a programmer and reprogram the ecu. Done.

It's not complicated, I would recommend you to call the dealer of your choice before you head over and make sure they can do the work I've heard lots of times that dealers dont have a clue what gms1 is. Also on Crateenginedepot they sale the sensors with the tune file that's what you're going to need for the dealer to do it.

Or better yet get a custom tune

there's a chevy dealership right down the road from me so ill probably call them first. So do I need to buy the tune file for the dealership to apply to my car?

ok thanks, i saw that there were 2 packages that looked similar so I wasn't quite sure which one I was suppose to get. I do agree just finding a tuner would be easier. I bought hptuners back in the day when I had my LSJ and my buddy who has the program on his laptop went MIA, havent heard from him in about 6-7 years. He had everything, the cable, the software. I've chalked it up as a loss.
