LNF head removal

sooo my cobalt has been down for quite some time, just been to busy to dig into any of it. its leaking coolant and mixing with oil and at first thought it might have been the turbo because there was some fluid infront of the inlet so i removed the turbo, plugged the block back up where coolant lines were, pressurized the system again and still lost pressure. im fearing its a cracked coolant passage with my luck but im going to remove the head and double check its not the gasket for ***** and giggles. question is, does anyone have a how-to on the head removal? ive been searching and cant find anything concrete. thanks in advance.

drop the motor to take the head off, ur going to be swapping the block once you realize its not the head gasket anyways.

There's no special instructions needed for these cars, if you pulled the turbo you are halfway there already. Just remove the manifolds, front timing cover, valve cover, cam gears and there you go.

I have heard of almost no head gaskets blowing.

Cracked block is obvious answer. What's your build date?

Yessss I know that's more than likely the case but stop bursting my bible guys lol. Ummmm, I'm just thinking of the timing chain? Taking the head off is no problem clearly just the 10 bolts. If it's the block I'll be doing a new head also since it's 100k almost lol. But it's not the porous block, that would've happened forever ago umrdyldo

Does seem unlikely so then I'm guessing something near the cylinder. Anything is possible.

Good luck and take pics.

Yea I'm betting is cracked but I hope not lol. Don't feel like swapping blocks. I just want to get the head off and not **** anything up just in case it is only a head gasket.
