And I'm thinking the 09's already have the hardware from this kit as well (sensors)

The PDF on page 3 states this kit is for the 07-08 Solstice/Sky and 08 Cobalt/HHR only

Anyone know any 09 SS guys that have their car tuned to see if they can go above the 255kpa limit?

Doubt it...the reason the document probably doesn't list 09 is because there were not out when they started the emissions approval in the state of California (that is what the document is in regards to).

the 09s have the same sensors as the 08s (same one on the intake and some one on the intercooler tubing)

the upgrade is for 07-09 LNF applications

The LNF has been out for years before it was in the Cobalt.

Don't people read? You can't just skip to the last page and post something about the last comment...this was discussed several posts prior...

NO, it was out for A YEAR before it was in the Cobalt. It was introduced in 2007 for the Solstice GXP/Sky RL. The HHR SS got it in January 2008, and the Cobalt in April when they started making the SS/TC

Iwonder why they would change the PCM yet again? perhaps paving the way for HCCI?

Increibly unlikely, its not even worth mentioning HCCI at this time.

Its more likely just a newer unit, or maybe even just a running change with no rhyme or reason.

I read that they have HCCI working all the way up to 90kpa so far! I wouldnt count it out. Defintly not of 09' but in the short future. From what I understand 90% of the hardware required is already in the LNF.

This place is worse than Wall St. One person says one thing they think is correct and there is mass panic and everyone believes it and starts saying how it is true...

A while back I posted that I HOPE GM makes an announcement about the Stage Kit at SEMA and how people are going crazy saying how it is going to be released there...

Well all thats really missing I guess is the cylinder pressure/temperature monitoring system. but that and the controls are the big issue and always have been

What most people are referring to when saying a new PCM or ECU is the updated OS

I concur...what I was told is that the 08 operates off a 2nd gen system and the 09 operates off a 3rd gen...

What is different on the 2009 Cobalt SS/TC vs 08?
I wish I could of gotten the LCD screen(air/feul,boost, etc) in my 08 SS/TC but it wasn't an option.

Is this difference only on 09 Cobalt SS/TCs?
Does it include all Cobalts, or only LNF Cobalts,HHR, SKY, Solstice?

What mods do you think will work well or ok with this stage kit? Like say i get a stage kit and then wanna do the downpipe, or the exhaust would this change the car to where i would need a aftermarket tune? From my understanding it would be jus like now except the ecu stops the hp or torque level at 315 instead 260. So putting any mods on would not really do anything for ya? I would like to get the stage kit and downpipe, this would not cuase it to be retuned im thinking, and maybe charge pipeing. I realize i wont see any benefits from mods without further tuneing. Does this mean stage 1 kit is worthless if say i was to go after market exhaust , cold air intake ect?

I agree. I have been beating the door for GM performance parts since prior to joining here. A lot of good people here and even more that think they know more than they do. I was amazed at how many people were posting about this being a good find, I posted this same info several weeks ago... Also how many posts that have been made without contacting GM and looking for info and claiming they know what's being released and what's not...

Hopefully SEMA comes to the rescue next week...

yeah and i think he is right... i think its gonna be just like the stock hp and tq limits except the numbers are higher so it prolly won't do anything putting aftermarket stuff on... i mean look at steve's tunes... hes makin crazy numbers without putting anything on these cars either so we know its possible... guess we'll just have to wait to see till gm brings out the plans!
