Is there a post about how to tell what a car has with just a VIN, I'm internet shopping and need to find out if some of these cars have LSD without calling

Yeah I didn't fiugre you could, so how do some of these people have so much information on VIN #s

 

Last i knew you can get the codes the car has from the VIN... which then tells you what the car has.. so krispy...where do you get your info from?

 

Cant you access a build sheet thru the vin??? I know I can thru chrysler.

When I bought my TC last Aug you could search for an SS after you built one on the Chevy website.
I was able to view the window sticker of all the ones I found in a 150 mile radius search.

I could not search for an SS until I built one through the site though. It would only search for LS/LT's ect. before that.

A GM VIN system I have access to, put VIN in, learn about the vehicles build/history/warranty/etc. But you need the system to figure all that out, so someone without access (aka most people) can't tell by just the VIN alone.

 

i thought he was asking someone to run the VIN and you said you/ane one couldnt get info from a vin...my bad man.

 

No prob, the VIN the OP did post up does have the LSD (G85).

You can search dealer inventory and view window stickers which will show which options the vehicles have, as well as GMS price.

 

Well I am looking at some of the wind damaged cars and I need VINs so that site won't help.
