what exactly is do you mean by "it hasnt had a chance to learn down" is that good or bad? some type of stock system with the stock tune?

 

The OEM tune will keep your car at approx 260 hp at all times. If the air gets colder or you put mods on that add power then your boost will go down, and if the air is warmer or you are at a higher altitude then the car will make more boost to reach target hp.

 

wonder if the GMS1 would fix this.. as it removes the learn down as well.. it just wouldnt give him as much performance from the DP since it doesn't tune for it specifically..

 

6 psi sounds like there is something up with the wastegate ..... could be the actuator or possibly the actuator rod has lossened up . When the ECU can't control the wastegate for whatever reason .... The ECM will disable boost control and limit the system to mechanical boost only which is right around 5psi.
