low boost p0299

low boost p0299

hey everyone

this week my car seemed to be losing boost and it wasnt really constant and all of a sudden i totally lost all boost... on idle im around -70kpa and i cant go over -10kpa. the CEL on appeared 2 days later and it came as a p0299. so the car has been running pretty fine except for the turbo not working. today when i started my car i had no boost, then 2 minutes later i got some but it didnt go over 100kpa and about 5 mins later i lost all boost again...

current mods are:
k&n short ram, megan catless downpipe, hptuned by Sound26(quebec)

if you guys have any info or anyone encountered this before pls help :P

Either a boost leak, or a failing or dirty map sensor.

i must add that when boost isnt working it really feels like the car is locked down on reduced power... feels like im driving a 2.2 LS but even if you wot it will barely go past 3k rpm in fact it feels more like a hyundai accent when accelerating when getting on the highway...

Your bypass valve is probably leaking. You might wanna change to forge.

I had this problem. Reduced power, no boost, took me 2 minutes to get to 40 mph. My direct injection pump went out.

brought the car to the dealer... turbine wasnt spinning anymore leaving my wastegate open.... 2200$ for a new turbo and the gasket... good news is they are putting it on the warranty :P
