maf relocation
Im sure there is a thread on this but i searched it and had no luck.. Want to buy a new turbo soon from Hahn, there 20g, and was curious if anyone is running an open turbo if so where did they relocate there maf.. im not doin it, my friend is running a hybrid 35r on his sti and said he loves it open turbo. it kinda scares me to do that but just curious of where u would relocate it to on the lnf so it wouldnt throw codes.

i had a custom cold pipe made and a plug and play wiring extension also. ill be running a tial q

Relocating it to the cold side ic pipe will give you different maf readings, you'll need hptuners to readjust them. Don't just relocate it and expect everything to work perfectly.

Whereever you decide to put it, make sure to recalibrate for the new pipe diameter that the MAF is in.
Explained: 20mph of air passing past a MAF for 1 second in a 2" pipe isn't the same amount of air as 20mph of air passing it in 1 second in a 3" pipe (other variables held constant). By telling the ECU how big around the pipe is that the MAF is in, the ECU can correctly re-figure how much air is coming in.
