How did you mount it? Did you weld a bung or something?

Im interested in this Meth idea.. But I know nothing about it, how it works, or where you install it? What does this Meth/water benefit? what does it do? Where can you pick up a kit specific for a car? or are they all non-specific?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_injection_(engines)

Basically uses evaporative cooling from the water and meth to lower ur inlet air temps

methanol is also an octane booster. As for how to install the nozzle, devils own makes a nozzle mounting adaptor that i used for my charge pipes. Its on sale for $15, and is pretty self explainatory

You just pop a hole in the charge pipe and it self seals? wouldnt 22psi pop it out?

Okay where did you guys install the Meth/water tank? In the trunk? Do you need a 5ga. or just a 1ga. is fine? Can this be used on a daily driver?

Do you have to fill the meth tank all the time or can you run without the meth when you want to? Do you need to fun a filter in the line? is it important to monitor EGT's and the cc/min flow of the Meth/water?

Aquamist HFS-6 is the way to go:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1696852

Whatever you do, make sure the kit you pick has a flow sensor just before the nozzle, preferably one that can feed back a low/high 12V signal to trip the wastegate. This is critical!!! It has saved my bacon before. I don't know the easiest way to wire it up on our SS/TC since I haven't looked into WI on this car.

On my LNF solstice, I see below ambient IAT2s at times, that's hptuned, hahn IC and a 3gph meth nozzle.

BUT - tune it for best results.

Superchips tune is stock timing, Stock DALs and MALT and 0.85 PE lambda. Meth should not show any gains on a tune that crazy conservative.

Just cooling the intake charge makes power in itself. From the first pull in Oscar's car without changing the tune at all you could feel a difference, a lot more powerful everywhere! It did throw off the trims obviously trying to get teh AFR right with the octane increase and now water content in the air. But once we adjusted that the car was a totally different car!!

Another note:
If you are running the MAF relocate pipe I prolly wouldn't run Meth. The MAF is RIGHT next to the TB on the ZZP pipe and the Meth is getting the MAF wet! He is going to switch back to stock location for the MAF but keep the Meth spraying for now. We'll figure out something to use both soon lol.

Put simply, on an LNF with higher than ambient IAT2 temps (read as most of them), you will benefit without tuning if you select the right flow rate and mix.

If you tune to the exteme limits of the new system (water/meth + high octane), you will have problems if the flow stops. Dead pump, clogged nozzle, out of juice could all happen, but if you maintain you filter and keep it full, its unlikely. By extememe i mean dialing in the MAF for the additional fuel value, upping boost past the capability of pump gas and/or adding timing beyond the capability of pump gas.

I would never install a meth kit and tune it to the extreme - not if i care about the car lol. This is my opinion of course, but a system with all those crazy failsafes is a huge investment for something that coudl still go wrong. To truely take advantage of it you need to be running higher boost/timing/compression than pump gas can handle on a daily basis. again, just my opinion

I was hoping someone would point that out.

^I couldnt believe how close it was and left really no option for Meth with it there. We tried to run it there and mount the nozzle as favorable as possible, still got the maf too wet and made it irratic as hell when WOT.

Makes sense about MAF relocate and meth injection.

yeah we did ditch it, still using the pipe but chopped up an extra maf as a block off plate for the relocation port and moved the maf back to stock location.

Could've sworn I read some where that DevilsOwn said to go with water injection if your not going to tune it and meth injection if you are?

You are not running stock timing and 0.85 lambda Nick.

FF_ace's car needs that meth in a bad way. His car knocks on less than stock timing and 0.87 PE lambda (I have tried it as rich as 0.85 PE lambda with no change in KR observed). I had him add some 100 unleaded just to confirm the knock was real because it is unbelievable. I have never seen an LNF knock on less than stock timing and 91 octane and his fuel trims are almost perfect. Oh well the meth should make for some big gains. I just wish I could be there in person to tune it. Email tunes are always a little harder.

All I said was meth alone will make power, not sure what you're talking about.

We just installed meth on Oscar's car and ran the same tune (timing, afr and boost) but adjusted the trims to get the afr/trims back in line obviously. The car made 343/424 with a 60% meth 40% water solution. 17* peak timing, .88lambda and 24psi. I know there's more in in too, haven't even leaned on it hard yet!

So i have a quick ? about this since it's before compression wouldn't the turbo heat the mix up and make it uneffective?

You inject it after the intercooler but before the throttle body so it further cools the intake air charge by removing latent heat through evaporation.
