Meth killed my engine.
what i should have done is drove it down to zzp on my vacation time and said, have at er, but since it would cost me another 1300 to put it back together, screw it. if my original dealer would have just said, ur warrenty is void when they saw the kit the first time i brought it in, thats what id have done. for 8500, id have a beast.
I've asked ZZP about the ideal installing meth along with my S256 kit, Tim advised me not to bother with it. They must know something.. The conclusion I have is either run E, race gas, or nothing at all and stick with pump gas.

That would be the ideal plan with hindsight being 20/20. You sure could of had a fully built lnf for around the same price maybe include tuning and installed?..

Damn man that's insane, sorry to hear that. where in canada are you? I'm in ottawa ontario and My local dealer ship told me not to waste my money with gms1 I know all three around my end of town. They don't normaly care for tunes and mods and all that but meth just never sounded like a good idea, my buddy just blew up his sti on meth with a conservative tune. So you guys all say mbil one is good to stick with, what about ams oil? Hear anything bad?
Jesus H Christ.
Pay them the $1,300, take your motor back in pieces, order new parts, take to a shop and have them build it.
In the mean time, take $1000 from that $8500 and buy a new car to drive around while its getting fixed.
Put the engine back in the car, sell your $1000 car or keep it as a winter beater.
Either way, your saying yourself probably $4-5000 bucks.
$8,500.....**** man.....thats insane....LOL
And in regards to the meth thing....
"Hey, we are voiding your warranty because you were running meth"
"What the hell is meth?"
"Its alcohol you spray into your motor so you can run a more aggressive tune"
"I don't know what the hell your talking about, I never ran meth, check my ECU...it has the factory tune on it. While your doing that, care to explain exactly how running meth would ruin my motor anyways? According to the magnuson moss warranty act you can not void my warranty for the use of after market parts unless you can prove without a doubt those parts caused the engine to fail"
That's how the conversation with the dealer should of gone had you been a bit better prepared. They count on people rolling over and taking it in the ass, you have to fight for stuff like this.
That dealer and GM are laughing all the way to the bank because of your "I expected this to happen" attitude.

"Hey, we are voiding your warranty because you were running meth"
"Meth? Are you seriously accusing me of being on drugs?"
"No. Sir..."
"And what the hell does my drug use have to do with my warranty anyways?"
"What I meant was..."
"Get your manager out her right now."
"Sir your employee is accusing me of doing illegal drugs as if it's a way to deny my warranty. And I've never done METH! Maybe a little crack but that was years ago."
My turn! My turn!

I always think it's funny when a tech dose something like this, he thinks he's doing some good for GM. Like GM give a **** about him.

OP - just so know you - I had a similar issue with a customer - any customer has the right to request a written statement from GM Canada and from the dealership - as to why the warranty is being voided, GM has to prove to you in writing why the engine / warranty is voided.. if not - you have the right to take them to court, because they have to prove it, so any verbal statements from them doesn't uphold in the courts.. so tell them - you want a written statement first with explanation for the failure..
8500 wtf!!! well at least they tore your motor apart, my warranty work got denied b/c after they replaced a turbo i still didn't gain compression. But i just finish building my motor and i spent less than half of what you spent. I hope you didn't give them the go ahead and i would get the warranty piece in writing, i never heard of your warranty being able to get reinstated
new LNF long block from CED is around 4 k +shipping, u need about a grand to put it in, comes with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty from GM at any GM dealer in North America.

guys idk how much its gonna cost me at the moment, dealer figures that, cause the work they did on figuring out the issue which i gotta pay for, i will get a better deal. im already working on it, i aint gonna pay what they are asking, thats retarded. ill let u all know how it goes. i live like an hour away from the dealer, so its hard to get there after work to talk to them. i do what it takes, even if i have to yell at them in front of everyone, not the first time id get my way doing that when i was getting bsed around.
