misfire codes

hey guys whats up,

i have a 2009 chevy cobalt ss/tc that is almost all stock. the only mod on the car at the moment is a set of clear image charge piping and aeroforce gauges.

ok so here is the story. i had the check engine light come on and i checked the codes and it was giving me a P0300, P0301,P0302 codes. so i took it to the local dealer and they replaced the spark plug and coil pack on the number two cylinder. so i got it back and went and replaced the other three spark plugs so they were all new with stock plugs. car ran good for a week then through the same codes again. took it back and they started looking into it. they said that the car misfired once and that it was an old code because when they were testing it the car wasnt miss firing at all. they also tested the injectors and coil packs as well and cant find any problems. then they proceeded to tell me that they wont go any farther because i have aeroforce gauges on the car and apparently that voids all my warranty.

so now im done with the dealer cause they have no idea what is wrong with my car. i was just curious if anyone has any ideas what is wrong with it or where to start. or i am open to taking in to a shop if any one knows of a trust worthy shop in socal that actually knows how to diagnose our cars.

thank you for all the help i appreciate it.

WTF? scan gauges cause misfires? (sarcasm) thats news to me and my dual interceptors that cause no misfires.

Did they only change a single spark plug? I would change the rest of the plugs and that should make a big difference.

They only changed one cause i wasnt going to pay them to change all four. the day i picked it up i got 3 new plugs and changed the other three that they didnt change. so all plugs are brand new AC delco plugs.

And i know it is bull that they claim my problem is from the gauges but they wont touch the car under warranty because those gauges void the warranty they claim.

Bullshit, call customer care. All the interceptor does is display the information from the ECU, it does not modify or change any values, I HATE dealers that try to pull this bullshit just because they're to damn lazy/unknowledgable to attempt to fix it

ya i know. i argued with the guy for an hour about it and got no where with the dealer. i would prefer to find a dealer or mechanic that is in socal that knows how to work on my car because the dealer i took it too had absolutely no idea what was wrong with it or how to fix it.

I got a new head out of my dealership at 78k mi, still has the problem though. Find another Chevy dealership or call GM Customer Care. Personally I'd just find a different dealership. No sense in paying to have something done that GM will warranty.

Customer care should be able to help with that. Ask them for a dealership that knows the lnf's, and then when you go there specifically ask about the lnf
