Misfire? What happened?

I'm driving right now to st. Louis. Have 5 hours to go and doing a nls from 2nd to 3rd made a wierd noise and the check engine light flashed for about 5 seconds then went away. Should I be worried? Stock tune, only a muffler delete. Traction control was on when I did it.

It'll be fine. You prob bumped into the rev limiter. Had it happen a few times before. No worries.

Its a misfire...happened to me quite often and found out had a spark plug go bad. You can really tell if you get on it and it starts making a continous bogging sound and your cel keeps flashing. Thats a misfire. If you have a code reader it'll tell you.

It's happened to me plenty of times. My car simply does not like the 1-2 shift and i'm NOT hitting the rev limiter.

I actually just got the "farting" noise twice today except... I was just rolling along in 2nd. I didn't even go WOT... just gave it half maybe. Then a bit later it was fine... that was strange. It was all warmed up too.
