mods from the forum classifieds

Wanted to do a few mods to the Cobalt SS, but I'm also buying parts for my 2004 GTO and 1968 Camaro. So, decided to save a few bucks and picked up some deals from the forum classified section. Thanks to the members that sold me parts. I also have Clear Image group buy charge piping on the way.

AEM CAI and TTR solid motor mount:

Dejon catless downpipe with cutout (I bought an electric cutout from Summit Racing):

Got too late this evening for a vid, my wife and I will take some video of opening and closing the cutout tomorrow.

It was cheap, easy to install, and it helps a little with wheel hop. The OTT rotated motor mounts are supposed to be the ultimate route to go.

The lowest point of the cutout is about 2.5" lower than the rest of the exhaust. Hope I don't drag on anything. Monday will be the true test, I have to go over a speed bump in the parking garage at work.

There is a downpipe install thread with pics that I used. It has a couple pics of the exhaust side.

The electric cutout hangs down a little lower than I originally thought, about 3" below the rest of the exhaust. I made it over a parking lot speed bump yesterday and the downtown parking garage speed bump today. So far I haven't dragged on anything (yet). Even with it closed, the exhaust sounds deeper and a little louder, a nice growl. Probably mainly due to being catless. We shot some vids from inside the car. Still need to do some from outside the car.

Why would he need to speak to you first?

Because, he had one of the parts I bought. Area47 is the guy that tuned my car. Have to give him two thumbs up.
