Money Shift?

Has anyone else besides me, while shifting, being at the top of 4th, looking for 5th and hit 3rd? I did. The car hit 7500 RPM to 8000 for about half a sec as I put it back to neutral as soon as it happend. Still runs fine and I had 3 different mechanics listen to the engine and as far as they can tell, everything seems to be ok.

Has anyone else done this on accident?

No never...I would suggest slowing down a little bit with your shifting. I have how ever thought I was in 1st and I was on 3rd

Yeah well I forgot to mention that I was racing a Suburu WRX Sti, whos car looked modded and tuned. Forgot to mention I left him and then let him catch up and then I was following him until my exit off the freeway. During which I was following him I did that top of 4th to 3rd. So yeah slowing down on the shifting would have been a good Idea if I was doing normal driving.

Smile Yup !

No while racing, though - just "leisurely" shifting and managed to find 3rd. It was sub 70 MPH, so no worries about damage to the car - just to the ego.

I have also done the First , Second , Third, Second ! before, although not in this car.

***** happens, I suppose.

I did a 2nd to 5th shift when attempting NLS for the first time. I've been driving manual from a long time and the NLS messes with your head at first. I try not to practice it very often so when driving my camaro i don't try it on accident.

I can't believe you were racing at a high enough speed to need to shift out of 4th. That's just crazy. Please don't kill anyone.

I know this happens sometimes but you should avoid this at all cost. This type of mistake will cause one of two things if your unlucky. 1 Rip the lining off the clutch disk. 2 bounce the valves off the pistons, shatter the lifters and kick 3/4's of the rockers off. 3, split the balance shafts in two. Number 2 and 3 is very ugly.
