Motor Build?!
Motor Build?!
Looking for some suggestions on what I should do to the LNF to try to get around 450hp sounds like a good streetable amount of power
Still new to 4 clylinders used to my trusty V8 lol but any suggestions would be great thanks!!
ding ding ding...
most reliable engine build seems to be girdled block and turbo swap. sleeved and aftermarket pistons is an option but the girdled block is better.
you can get 450 out of the efr, but without a spot on tune you may be forced to build ur engine eventually. some people have luck and others dont.

I smell a newb.
I realize your joint-date is a while ago, but you have 48 posts.
The clutch/tranny are the weak points.
Things newbs should know:
1) Don't ask what it will take to get to 450hp and never do anything about it.
2) Don't completely budget on the motor, then forget that your stock clutch only holds 350 ft/lbs of torque, or so and that your transmission will only hold in the neighborhood of 425 ft/lbs of torque, reliably.
3) Don't buy a bunch of useless ****, like an atmospheric blow-off valve, metal chargepipes, or a wideband O2 sensor.
4) Don't even come on this site if you don't at least have a boost leak tester and the ability to use it.
5) Don't ask us about why your motor is running like **** when you haven't even read the DTC code yet.
6) Invest some of the money you were going to spend on LED's on something to monitor your car's function, like HPTuners or Aeroforce Interceptors, etc.
7) If you have a bunch of money to spend, just drop your car off in Michigan. ZZP will take care of the rest. We'll be here to drool over your investment.

For me i havent had a weak point yet my tranny and clutch still hold no slips or grinding. Ive been on over 400hp for a couple months now and havent run into any problems besides fueling...guess youll have to just judge on your driving really
