Which Mounts

I see allot of going back and forth regarding mounts. I was going to go with OTTP. then saw there was Turbo Teck, then to make it more confusing I am seeing Powell pop up. I not sure what whay tyo go. I drive this car long distances and is far from being a "racer" maybe eventually. I was a little worried about viberations but really cant be any worst then my 84 turbo colt. Do these mounts really help with torque steer as someone stated? I am jus a little confused and would like advise from people who have them. Sorry to bring up and old subject.

Oh yea. does the forge BPV sound as loud as a BOV? I hope not I do not want that sound. I can not tell very well from the videos.

I'm not sure about the mounts..from what I've heard, its more about personal preference than anything.. everybody says the same thing about all the mounts.. an how this one's better than that one, an how the other ones suck compared to this one.. watever

an no the Forge BPV is noticeably louder, but doesnt sound like a BOV

none of these mounts have a specific application to reduce torque steer. in fact assuming properly installed and connected, mounts dont affect torque steer at all; axle shafts, steering rack tie rod angles , tire type, condition, pressure and size (contact patch) affect torque steer.

while I am at it, mounts being harder in bushing durometer or rotation or whatever dont improve engine torque by allowing "more power to the wheels". engine torque is what it is. the tire provides the grip.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I did not think that mounts would have an affect on touque steer as people were claiming. Do you think there is any advantage to adding these to my car with under 300hp and being a daily driver?

I make these mounts; I would not drive my RL without them, its a pita to drive any of the manual trans delta's in everyday driving particularly rain and get stupid power hop at the touch of the gas pedal.

The F23 2.2. are just as bad if not worse than a 300+whp LNF for power hop.
So yes get mounts. My allow mounts are the most expensive. I am guessing my soon to be released all steel ones will be cheapest. Whatever, rotation is the key and peace of mind is the results. And no vibration to speak of.

Drag racing is more a complex task for the car and there is a lot more than mounts in the set up to deal with power hop.

Thank you!! This is good to know.
Can you Pm me with the cost with shipping for my car( 93436)? I think it may be a great addition even though we do not get much rain here in california. Why are yours the most expesive and you say NO vibe? You have something they don"t. I appreciate your time.

I'm full TTR STOP mounts and they do what they are supposed to do. No wheel hop unless the tranny itself gives. but you feel every little load and vibration coming from the engine. Def not best for the everyday driver since you're almost solid mounts.

I have TTR front and rear tranny mounts, and their engine mount. They completely eliminate wheel hop, but yes there are some vibes. Such is life in the performance world.

One thing I want to try to squash the vibrations are to maybe get my idle set a little higher - ~975rpm seems like a sweet spot for me so far...thought it was 1k, but there is less vibe just a smidge under 1k.

But that's for when I get tuned.

Top engine mount is completely pointless...
