MPx Exhaust Clank over bumps and stuff

The other systems would have problems where they pass over the rear axle when lowered (other exhausts will bang against the rear axle because they designed the exhaust for use with a stock height car!).
Quoted from MPx's website.

Why is my MPx exhaust clanking over bumps and stuff, but it didn't do this at the beginning? It almost seems like it was developed and now it's doing it a lot and it's worse than before. The sound is coming from the rear of my car and it sounds like metal on metal bang. It's not a rattle, but for sure a clank. Now part of the reason why I chose MPx exhaust was their claim to work with lowered cars. Even their photo proving their clearance is a cobalt using eibach sportlines. So this shouldn't be happening at all.

Could something be loose?

Is there a fix?

What's the possible long term damage?

Why wasn't I warned about this?

If you're talking about this one https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...rattle-246460/

Then it's not the same issue, I don't believe.

I read that one and it's the heat shield from what I understand. I had a rattle when I first got MPx and I just bent it back to stop it. Now it's banging against something and I don't feel like it was like that to begin with. It seems like a developed issue.

rather than jack the car up, either shake the exhaust while the car is at ride height and see if anything hits or get a few friends in the back seat and see if the piping is getting close to the rear axle.

Axle (not axel as you pointed out) is equal to torsion beam, Its just not a DRIVE axle. You do realize we have 2 axle vehicles right?

as per dictionary.com
axle

— n
a bar or shaft on which a wheel, pair of wheels, or other rotating member revolves

your welcome

Okay, went to my friends house and his dad took his jack so we used those yellow ramps! Suck ass! The biggest and cheapest lift solution on planet earth. I felt like I was gonna roll off if I wasn't careful.

Never again!

Anyway, the first rubber bushing that holds the exhaust slipped off. So it was banging under my seat pretty much, but sounded like the rear. We just put it back on and problem solved.

Thanks all.

Also he taught me some launch techniques so I feel good about my launch now. Need a little more practice, but on the road to perfection.

Do yourself a favour and get some urethane hangers, that mother won't move ever again and holds the exhaust in place.

I have the same problem, my MPx exhaust has always clanked a little, but it seems to be getting worse. I used to just ignore it, but now it sounds like someone is trying to get out of the trunk every tiny bump I hit. Mine is hooked up fine, it just looks like its too much for the hangars and it sways around almost unrestricted. They look like they are getting stretched out. Does anyone recommend any good hangers? I know nothing about them, is there a size to look for?

edit: Might try these ebay hangars

The hangers I used are from a ford pickup truck, they are hard rubber in the centre and urethane on the outside.
