Question MPx Vs. ZZP Catted Downpipe; Your recommendation?

I am considering purchasing a catted downpipe for my 2010 Cobalt SS/TC (I'm not interested in a catless downpipe).

I have done some research and reading and have found some good threads with good information on downpipes and I have decided to go with either a MPx catted downpipe or a ZZP catted downpipe.

I found a couple of threads already comparing ZZP downpipes to MPx or BadMab, however they are 2-3 years old and I would like to see if any new information/opinions exist out there (because opinions do change as time goes on and a product is used).

Here is a little background information on why I cannot decide which to go with:

MPx
- I've purchased a few items from them already and have had fantastic service; they've shipped quickly and have sent the right parts.
- I checked out their shop while I lived in Houston for a few months and their products looked like good quality
- Price is a little more expensive than what I would expect for a catted downpipe at $249.99 (I expected it to be around $200.00)
- Does not seem to come with new gaskets or the option to even add them to the order, which means I will have to purchase them from elsewhere
- Haven't heard many reviews from others who purchased it

ZZP
- I purchased my charge pipe from them; originally shipped the wrong silicone couplers, however after contacting them about it they sent the correct coupler to me at no extra cost to me, so I was really impressed with their desire to make things right
- The quality of the charge pipe I received was top notch, so I would think it is a good reflection of their other products
- Price is better than MPx at $227.99 including new gaskets...I also have a $50 gift card for ZZP which would make the price drop down to $177.99
- Has option to include new gaskets
- I'm unsure about fitment because some people have been saying the fitment was not right, while others say the fitment was fine

Anyway, let me know what product you purchased and anything positive or negative which you have noticed about it! Any and all info is appreciated.

i'd go with ZZP because it's cheaper, they are both going to provide the same gains, sounds, etc. so might as well save some cash

I have a hahn catted dp...I think it is one of the best on the market dp wise. But between those two. I would go ZZP as it has the neck on the o2 sensor. So you won't have to tune out the error code. The mpx does not have that, and you'd need to get an extension. Just based on that, I'd go zzp. And they should have good customer support.

I'd go with the ZZP. I just bought the catted zzp downpipe for my lnf and was amazed at the quality. Fitment was perfect and made a good difference in sound too.

This is good to know; I didn't realize I would need to get an extension for the O2 sensor. Thanks for the info!

Any specific reason why you'd recommend ZZP even though you are running MPx? Must be some reason behind?

I have the zzp high flow, not sure what ppl where talking about fitment issues. Granted it is hooked up to a zzp cat-back, but the stock cat fit great when I had to swap them for emissions.

If I had the ability to build my own out of the best materials I would too.

God when I bought my Hahn catted DP almost 5 years ago it was almost $400 total for it. They (catted DPs) have come way down in price it seems.

Jus noticed you asked this, but i would go with the cheaper price. I haven't a single prob with the MPx or the J bung piece needed to not have a CEL running catless.

I can't speak for the MPx DP, but I had the ZZP DP and was pretty happy. I'd say go ZZP and I did have the ZZP mated to the MPx Catback though and thought it sounded pretty good.
