Neither will make any real performance difference.

dam i was afraid of that, so from a tuner/tuning perspective neither would make it easier on the car or yield better results.

right, just go with whatever you feel sounds best. Both are a flow through design, the downpipe is the real restriction. You don't need a better flowing catback until you start going beyond the stock turbo. Either way, you would want a larger diameter pipe. The stock muffler and resonator aren't restrictive at all, actually a pretty good exhaust system stock.

so once i put in the 3" zzp catless d/p i should just do a muffler delete...instead of a full 3" exhaust from the downpipe back?

Honestly depends on what your set up and goals are, i'm running a full 3" exhaust with CTI header and a 2nd muffler (hushpower) acting as a resonator. Cat went bad so i had them just run a piece of pipe, car is louder then i would like but when i get my cat it will tone it back down. Gotta hear the TVS whinee
