Bump once again!
HUGE NEWS!:
Wednesday or Thursday I have a meeting with a GM engineer at the dealer. Right now on ALL GM SCHEMATICS they show these wires to be color coardinated, when in fact on every car I have seen produced these wires are in fact, WHITE. This means this problem may not only impact me, but can impact ANY ONE OF YOU who run into the problem I did. The dealer will NOT work on your car if your High Pressure Fuel pump goes bad and they see you have white wires. They will immediatly put your car into the system as modified and you will no longer have a warrenty! I have a meeting with the GM Engineer in which I will show him the pictures posted in this thread, pop my hood, as well as one cobalt they have in service. The problem is that most cobalts I have seen are modified which isnt a great basis to go off of.
WE NEED MORE PICS! Please post up a picture of these wires, as well as what year your car is and where you are located so I can print out a little word document showing how all over the United States, Cobalt SS/TC's have 3 white fuel pressure sensor wires, and if they are wrong, then they will change the schematics and no1 will run into this problem I faced ever again. so... PLEASE TAKE PICS AND POSTT!

why dont they just go look at the cobalts they are building and look what they have there. doesnt say much for a company if they dont even know how their car is wired.
go up to the sale area, pop the hood of a new TC, take a pic, go show it to them, than say, this car is sitting on yoru dealer not brand new, and has it TOO...fix my ****, and than call GM customer service and file a comlaint about it...

problem is the dealer doesnt have a TC on the lot. And mine is an 08. most you see on lots are 09's so they are not technically the same. But i believe the schematics on 09's show also 3 colored wires, so im gonna show them both. But they also want stock cars. Theres mine, thats modified, an 08 SS/TC in service thats stock + modified air box which they are considering modified. But the more the merrier PLEASEE

2.5 hours of labor my ass!!! I have had my high pressure fuel pump off twice now. It takes all of 20-30 minutes total to remove it and put it back on.
That might even be with a beer break in there!
I'll take a picture of mine tonight for you and post it, you can assure the dealer my car is unfucked with. Not so much as a vacuum line out of place on my car.

LOL. That included me making a new gasket for mine as the Black RTV fix failed on mine. Used the old gasket as a templet and cut a new one out of a rubber and cork sheet I had.
So what was the outcome of this?
Even gm's own pictures show white wires http://www.turbo-cobalt.com/engine/G...l_with_inj.jpg

because of this, GM voided my powertrain warrenty in their computer. i contacted the salesman at chevy b/c he said the GM engineer came and said he would refund me the money i paid for the fuel pump, but never mentioned my warrenty, so i called and have yet to received a call back.
and today i got gas, as i was leaving my car had some trouble cranking. it just wouldnt fire up. after about 3 tries it did, and i started thinking "boost control solenoid" looks like that will come out of pocket too. but well see what happens.

well I know it is too late for you but it looks like solstice/sky is the only one who got the "memo" about the wire colors on the fuel injector harness.
FYI this type of "component harness" is not usually tightly regulated as for as wire color.
