Are you sure you need to replace that? The purge solenoid is at the front of the car in the IM.

The purge valve is on the top center of the intake manifold closest to you. Its rectangular with a tube and electrical connector on it. Its held down by one bolt

What you have indicated there is the Fuel Tank Vent Solenoid I believe.

This is the Evap Purge Solenoid:

I replaced the Fuel Tank Vent Solenoid and took off the EVAP solenoid and shook it and my CEL is gone and has never come back. The mechanic also told me to replace my gas cap again as the seal on it is worn.

Hey guys I Keep getting the P0455 code, how much does it cost for a new Evap Purge Solenoid? Did replacing it fix your problem?

both parts above ive replaced recently just do them both. they are simple and need no programing

thats the code i had. when I got fuel it would take awhile for it to crank and go into engine power reduce with a cel then go back to full power

Had this happen to mine too a few years ago. If i didn't hit the gas after filling up when trying to start the car, it would die on me and not want to turn over again unless I let it sit a few minutes. When it started I would get engine power reduced. Replace evap purge solenoid under the hood and it cured all the problems.

Replied to your PM. I'd start with replacing the Evap Purge Solenoid, since it's quick, easy and inexpensive. The Vent Valve Solenoid is a bit more involved to replace, but is a good next step if the Evap Purge Solenoid doesn't fix it.

If neither of those fix it, then you've got a leak somewhere that may require a dealer to do a test of the system to track down.

Depending on your miles, you can shell out about $50 and replace both the Evap on the manifold and the vent valve near the gas tank with simple hand tools.

Not sure if you have access to a lift or jack with jack stands.

With a lift, the vent valve by the tank is a 5 min job.

Ok thanks I'm going to order the purge solenoid? Just seen a video on YouTube on how to test the purge solenoid and mine is definitely bad. How do you remove the Vent Vale? Do you just twist it off? I have access to Jack stands and I know were its located.

Yeah, you just twist it like a quarter turn and it unlocks if I remember right.

For the vent valve by the tank you undo the bolt on the side of the large charcoal canister, rotate it towards you then unscrew the vent valve.

For the purge valve on the intake manifold just unhook electrical and unbolt.

Do you lose power after you fill your tank up? That's what was happening to me and I replaced the solenoid and it fixed my problem.
