Need help identifying a part!

so i bought this car with the ais stage 2 meth kit installed with a trunk mount tank. i know the main nozzle goes into the lower charge pipe before the intake manifold but there is another fitting that goes into the upper charge pipe where it angles down to the intercooler and the tap is stripped on my charge pipe. i just want to know what the hell exactly this piece does?

its the left one on the top of this picture. again it goes into the upper charge pipe and i have it disconnected and the hole taped off for now

u should only have one going to the lower charge pipe. there shouldnt be anything going to the upper, whoever installed it screwed up. those other ones are just for different ways to do the setup. its probably a differnt size jet for different hp amount. weld up the upper charge pipe hole and leave it with just the one going to the lower charge pipe

ok figured it out... the other fitting goes to the meth controller (comes with stage 2) and tells the controller how much boost so it can spray accordingly. here are some pics:

heres the controller, the nylon hose on the right goes to that same fitting

heres the fitting taken out and metal taped on both sides to prevent boost leak

and heres the actual nozzle

Is your Lower charge pipe still Plastic? If so i would change that out

You should have your Meth nozzle with the check valve mounted 8 inches from your TB

And also in your Lower charge pipe the line from your controller for Boost reference, looks like the installer used the Hot side for reference?

the reference wouldn't matter if it's in the hot side or cold side. he could have used a vacuum line off the intake manifold if he really wanted

I don't have meth, but I know you want to install the spray nozzle close to the TB! Prolly between the MAP and TB.
Someone screwed up for sure..there's no reason to tap into the HOT side pipe..NONE.
Here is a convenient factory drawing:

Hot side would be ever so slightly higher pressure, in theory anyway, and would therefore get the quickest activation of the system. But yeah, it really won't be a usable difference.

Again with terrible information... The AIS kit requires a boost reference line. That's what that is. It should be on the cold side pipe, but it really doesn't matter. If yours is already in the hot side pipe, just fix the hole and leave it there instead of making another one somewhere else.

I stand corrected on my comment...that was prolly a boost reference port. Actually, I would think the intake manifold (where MAP sensor is also located) would be an ideal place. However, like you say..if a port hole is already on the pipe, why not use it?
