Need some opinions about a less powerful LNF than normal...
Hi guys,
i need some opinions/info if you guys can help,
My friend have a SS TC '08, it has been tuned for a over a year by trifecta at 20 psi, he had to change the MAP once right after that tune, but never had the problem again,
he did 13.5 @107mph with that tune.
When i got a tune update, i met this guy(my friend..) while he got a tune update for 24 psi , he now also had an injen intake.
I did 2-3 runs from a roll against him with my 22 psi and his with 20 and 24, i was faster than him even on 24 psi,
a couples of minutes after the run, he got a CEL for MAP sensor low voltage and low performance MAP.
He got it replaced and then today we went at the track, i was there to watch and film, and best he could do was 13.950 @103 on 24 psi , and 14.5@98 stock
While my best on 22 psi was 13.319 @ 111.28 mph with tune only nothing else.
On his last attempt he said he stalled and something was not right after that, he had no power, and very low boost, he was not really boosting from what he said and had low power.....
but no CEL, i though about limp mode?
Then he went home he said the car idle was not smooth, 300/1500 rpm and it had boost then not boost, then boost etc....
Then he got a CEL, hes getting the car at the dealer this week to scan the code.
Any of you guys have an idea about what is going on?
There is no weird smoke coming from the exhaust, just run like crap...
He had less power since his intake, from what i can see, can the intake make something like that to happen? from what ive seen his log was ok too, teh night he got his update in same time as mine...
Any info, suggestion will be appreciated
sorry for the long text...

First things first. New aftermarket peices mean somthing may be loose possibly maf sensor. If he is tuned for the 24 and so forth he could also have fueling issues bad plugs he could possibly went into limp mode ha ha ha funny words limp lol but could be a map sensor. And it could depend on fuel how he is driving it blown head gasket it can be alot of stufff do a leakdown test. Do a fuel pressure test. Check your charge hot and cold side piping. Check yours intake , and all sensors

Stock intercooler cannot keep the air charge cool enough. It's overheating the MAP sensor and causing it blow.
Not to mention he's way over pushing the turbos limits.

I posted in the general section thread that you have what I think is the intake problem IMO anyway went through exact same thing last year except I have never had the map burn out on my car ever.
