Curious what made them decided that you had porous block.

So you got this car around 2 months ago..according to the posts you have here?
It's pretty scarry to have this problem pop up at 33K mi. Does anyone here know if this is a problem mainly with 08 models? I see this is an 08 too.
I wonder if the car had this problem before you got it?

That's my fear. I also have an '08. I know it's happening on the '09 cars, too.

Well. I wonder if the problem surfaced much earlier with the previous owner?
My take...yeah this is a ticking time bomb with an *occult* problem. You just can't predict which motors will fail with this condition. Having said this....I'm pretty sure that pushing the limits using higher boost levels certainly invite this, especially in cars prone to have porousity. There is is guy here who covered this topic very well...*ARMY* something was his ID as I recall.

It was acting wierd besides the coolent leak and the nasty oil it had problems starting which I attributed to the evap purge solonoid whereas in face it had to do with the porous block I think beacuse after I replaced the solonoid it did it again the problem statrting and such.
